Hey guys, well im new to this forum.. Recently, we purchased a merc that happened to have these stains. The fact that the stains are evident clearly in the car i didnt want to risk messing the cloth.

1. Would an all purpose cleaner do the job to remove them?

2. What product (preferably in autogeek store so that i can order) would you suggest?

Folex works on blood. Ive used it several times. However you will need to go to lowes to buy it.

Welcome to autogeek, another vote for folex as it found locally at home depots too if theirs no lowes around you also on the headliner you will want to use small brush and or apply the product to brush instead of the headliner material then lightly agitate then wipe then repeat the process for the rest of the headliner

Whose blood is it?
Do you have any training in regards to
blood-borne pathogens?

IMHO:
Can't be too careful nowadays!

+1 for Folex. I cleaned an entire stained interior with it Saturday, great stuff!

(It was a CLK 350)

Hydrogen peroxide.

Just take a q tip and put some on the blood. After several hours it should disappear. If not repeat.

If it has been previously cleaned with any chemical rinse with water first.

Professional carpet and upholstery cleaner.

+1. I have used this for years on laundry that has gotten blood on it and carpet stains (pet barf, pop, etc.). Not sure if it would bleach out darker colors, but that looks to be very light grey you are working with there, so shouldn't be any issues. Maybe do a test spot in one of the more inconspicuous areas first.

Only on a detailing forum can you ask a question like this and get helpful responses without asking any questions about how the blood got there or someone calling the cops.

I know of a lot of car forums where asking how to get rid of blood stains would have everyone asking for details about how it got there and probably have law enforcement knocking on your door. Here at AGO, it is a 'normal' question.

I used it on a dark green rug with no side effects, took the blood right out.

The brown bottle Hydrogen Peroxide that is readily available is very safe on synthetics. Most cars are gonna be all polyester upholstery and carpet... You may run into some nylon but that is also synthetic.

We use much higher percentage of hydrogen peroxide in the carpet cleaning world without any side effects as long as previously used chemicals are rinsed prior to treatment.

Blood will also breakdown by treating with an enzyme, allowing dwell time followed by hot water extraction but only works on light stuff.

Also blood is notorious for wicking. The spot reappearing later on....so it may take several treatments.

If the peroxide doesn't work you need a stronger version than the brown bottle stuff.

OR it was set by an idiot using multiple cleaners. Oxiclean and Resolve often set stains or make them much harder to remove.

FOLEX is safe and effective alternative to those SHITTY products.

Another option...try your local janitorial supply. One more, talk with someone in "house keeping" at the hospital. Even though there isn't much carpet in hospitals, they may have an answer 'just in case.'

Thats what i think im going to do, we dont have folex in my area so they might have a solution from their experiences. I know a guy that works in clothes and laundry, wouldnt hurt to ask. I was going to order from amazon, the bottle was about $13 and shipping cost $140 to my area. Culdnt find another store that would do international shipping :/

Im ordering a 12 oz. Shurhold Moldaway Mold Remover + 750 ml. Sonax Multi Star All Purpose Cleaner from AG store. Will write a review and rate the items after im done using them.

Regarding where the blood came from loool.. I myself have no idea. Dont tell anyone

Where are you located?

I've seen Folex at local hardware stores, even one grocery store. This in a town of 10,000.

Definitely hydrogen peroxide for blood. It will change to orange, then yellow, then gone. When you put some on it will foam up. Allow it to dwell a few minutes then dab on some fresh to get it foaming again. Clorox 2 stain fighter and color booster is thicker and will work like the hydrogen peroxide.

I am located in the Middle East, Lebanon. Might have to spend a weekend to go around and do some searching. The only thing that worries me the most is messing up the fabric. Thats why im relying on you guys experience with these chemicals.

Hazcat, you think clorox stain remover and color booster will do the job? I probably can find this in supermarkets here... Will keep an eye on it & Folex.
