Blue Coral AUTOFOM with Fomblin A- Dennis Weaver

Here's a miracle product from the early 1990's that I have in my collection but it's time to thin-out. The plastic bottle has cracked so before recycling it I took a few pictures to preserve this part of Car Wax History.

TV Commercials with Dennis Weaver

I remember when this product was being advertised on TV with a TV actor by the name of Dennis Weaver. He was known for his roles in,

Chester on Gunsmoke

Sam McCloud on the McCloud TV series

He also stared on a TV show called Gentle Ben, which was about a huge Bear.

I couldn't find any of the U.S. English TV Commercials but here's one in a foreign language, German I believe?

Dennis Weaver appears at about the :20 second time stamp.

I grew up using this stuff. Loved / Hated it. Worked great but wasn't always the easiest to remove. I grew up in a GM Family with dealerships in Cleveland so the whole home-town thing was big for us.

I spoke about using this stuff a while back in another thread.

Some of the TV ads claimed it contained the same ingredient used to protect the Space Shuttle re-entry heat tiles. Ads were often on during Friday night "Chiller Theater".

Definitely agree it worked great, and yep it was a bear to remove until I learned the secret trick to lightly mist the panels with water to aid in its removal.

Mike!!! I love this!! You forgot his greatest role ever..... David Mann in Steven Spielberg's Duel!!!!! I have the movie poster in my home shop!!!! If you are giving old products away, i would love them for my wall. I will pay for the shipping

Yeah buddy! I watched that movie and it was actually pretty good, especially for its time.

Here's a YouTube video from the moving with the Truck Driver messing with Dennis Weaver

One of my best and oldest friends told me his dad invented those tiles. He worked for Bureau of Mines if I remember correctly in my home town of Albany, Oregon. He had a number of inventions that were patented for the Government.

I drove by this place all the time, it was one street over from the High School I attended and just down the road from my parents house.

I don't remember Chiller Theater but I do remember Terror Theater and of course Monster Vision with Joe Bob Briggs on AMC

Chiller Theater/re aka Shock Theater was a syndicated TV package put together in the late 50's by Universal Pictures (via Screen Gems) featuring their classic "Universal Monsters". It was part of their response to the new medium of TV which was drawing people away from the theaters. It almost always aired on late Friday nights and usually had a costumed monster host. Vampira (not Elvira) was an early host.

My favorite movie in the package is The Black Cat which pitted Lugosi vs. Karloff.
