Wow...another great job! Good luck with the burn...keep us updated!

New Touch Up Paint Applicators

Okay: Here's a couple of pics of the applicators! They are a small plastic handle with a fuzzy microfiber puff on the end. We used them today and they work FANTASTIC! (Hint-Hint AG)

Here's another pic with the clear coat + hardener. We use classic touch up paint with an applicator and appy it to a stone chip. Let dry, and apply clear coat with another applicator.

Once the clear dries completely, you can compound/polish the area smooth. The problem I was running into was polishing just the touchup and removing it completely from the stone chip. With the hardened clear coat acting as a protectant, I don't ruin the touch up color (especially the metallic colors).

I'll try to find out particulars on distribution, price, etc.

Toto

Oh, one last thing...one of the dealer's customers came by today and let me drive his 2006 M5......WHAT A RIDE! It is so comfortable at 100+, you can't imagine. I'd have a stack of tickets a foot thick if I drove it daily. 500 Hp of V10 with paddle shifting in a 4 door car.

Hey Toto, guess what I did to the Volvo? I don't know how I did it but I was doing the driver side door and I burned some paint. I burned some paint on the door handles. I use the Edge 2000 pads and the PC and I guess the plastic pease on the pads must have hit the door handle on and then the rear feander...it's a little flaired and well I wasen't carefull and caught the edge of the pad again...man I felt like an idiot!! When I saw what I did I remember what you said about being carefull...yea after I did it. So...um...what do I do now. I'll post some pictures soon.

Is this what you used on the area that was burnt? If so I need to get some of these..um...maybe lots hahahaha :(

Hey Nica, which color pad were you using? Sorry to hear about the burning. :( I thought the PC was supposed to be 99.9% safe and that .1% was if you threw it at the car.

lol...it is safe I was just feeling confident and didn't pay attention. I was using the orange pad. There is a plastic pease that units the pads and well it must have been that, that cought the paint and it burned it...I got lots of burns on the passenger side. Wife's not impressed oh and then get this I had the stereo on and I drained the battery.....uuuurrrrggg...maybe not a good day for detailing for me.

The door handles don't look good burnt....myabe I was applying to much presure...I don't know how I did it to be honest but I think it was combination of me and the plastic pease on the pad.

Are you talking about the plastic on the SIDE of the pad? Isn't there like... 1 inch of pad before it gets to the plastic? Either way... sorry to hear that it happened and your wife will get over it. I hope.

I would be interested in seeing the pics Nica. Unless you held the PC were held in the same spot without moving it for a long time there just wouldn't be enough heat generated to burn the paint. I'd really like to see those pics and see if we can't decipher what's going on.

I think it was the side of the pad, I know I scratched my head when I saw this but I'm thinking it was that. I'm sure I didn't leave it on the same spot for that long....I'm so paranoid about leaving the PC on the same spot that I make sure to keep moving it at a steady pace.

I'll have to post some pictures tomorrow, I got to go eat something....um...sorry Toto for high jaking your topic buddy....I got to stop doing that.

lol When you get your pics together you can just start a new thread and we'll see if we can't figure out what happened with your pads. Buen provecho. :p
