Hey All! This is a 1978 model Hurrican Fun Deck - 23 footer. Had a great time turning around this beauty. I still need to go tomorrow and do some finishing touches but I couldn't wait to post it! Let me know what you think!

Lol - Thanks man..... for 25 year old gel coat give or take a year, it was a great turnaround lol. I really appreciate the kind words man :buffing:

Anthony...
Excellent work as usual, my good Man!!

Hope the Family's doing well.
Just thinking aloud:
Shouldn't be much longer until the boys are big enough to put their oars in the water, and everyone can row together.

Bob

Look great!
Did you hit the exterior with a rotary ?

Bob :)

BoB - The Oars are getting very close to dipping in the waters lol...... thanks for the kind words man!

Yes sir, almost all gel coats we compound and polish are hit with the rotary. I have a Rupes, but only use it when it is quick and efficient - gel, rotary is the quick and efficient tool! The Makita with the proper products and techniques will produce ridiculous results. You can produce similar results with the top new tools, but after twice as much time in this case :buffing:

Spectacular result. Can't believe that it's a quarter century old.

I live close to Marina del Rey and have worked on quite a few bots that spend their entire lives in salt water. And I know how much effort has to be spent on keeping the gel shiny and preventing chalking. And once someone lets the hull go it is almost impossible to bring back.

That boat looks like it has been garaged by the time you finished. I am especially happy to see how you got rid of the mold stains on the seats. I was never able to clean them like that.:props:

Looks great Anthony!

Boat detailing is a real challenge, not only the boat but the customer. Too many detailers out their work to hard for too little money for this type of detailing work.

The cure starts with education.

Keep up the good work...

EVERYONE - I MUST SAY THIS IS A '98!!!! I FOUND OUT TODAY :/ I TOTALLY MISUNDERSTOOD THE CLIENT!!!! I THOUGHT HE SAID 78 AND EVEN WROTE IT DOWN AS A 78..... IM SORRY IF THIS WAS MISLEADING! So now it is a 16 year old boat! Either way.... Im happy for the turnaround and so was the client!

Completely agree Mike - thanks for the response! But yes...... I have done my share of boats and have charged way less in the beginning - learned my lesson fast though lol ;)

Sweet!!!!!!! Looking forward to it! People in Nashville are starting to get their boats ready for the season, so not much longer and it will be our turn!

This time last year I had already fished a couple tournaments! This year, they are calling for snow next week still...
