Just repainted my Boat trailer with an single stage automotive enamel paint with metal flake. It looks good but came out a little darker than I wanted and a few spots its heavier than others. Is there a way to even out and lighten up the paint by polishing it? It doesn't have a clear coat on it so whats the process to buff and shine it anyway? I would think since there is no clear I probably want to stay away form using a DA polisher? How would you guys polish and protect this new paint job? Thanks for your time.

On single stage on trailers I use a single step/AIO type cleaner/wax i.e XMT 360

In terms of a DA, GO FOR IT! Just expect your pads to get a bit dirty but it should be ok. The only concern I would have is the paint is not fully cured and might not be ready for any correction type work done to it

There are some "body shop" safe chmicals you can use. Check the store and find a wax an a cleaner/polish you like and have at it.

good luck

Well this is how she turned out. Couple before and after.
