Boat Video Project - Restoring the Gel-coat on a 21' Cougar MTR Tunnel Hull

This is basically going to be like a Boat Detailing Class only we're shooting a video at the same time. This boat detailing project is FREE - our normal 2-day boat class is $950.00, so anyone attending will get to learn some of the things I teach in our class as we churn out this new boat detailing video.

First come - first serve
This class is limited to the first 6 people that reply to this thread.

My buddy Russel has been doing some test spots to see if this gel-coat will come back. If it will - and it looks like it will, we're going to have it here for a project in May.

This is the back of the boat - usually this area is in really bad shape and as you can see it is.

Here's the top of the hull at the back of the engine...

We might get some pizza, probably no meatballs though...

In-between shooting video segments we'll have to do the detailing work, mostly on the outside so we're done by about 4:00pm

Awesome tunnel hull. Mike I'd bet you're chomping at the bit to go run it after completion. :dblthumb2:

I would like to drive this boat on some flat water, but that's not going to happen. My buddy Russell is driving this boat down from Jacksonville, Florida, that's about a 6 hour haul one-way. He's heading back first thing Saturday morning, so if I want to drive it I'll have to catch up with the owner in Jacksonville. I'm not a fan of Jacksonville, (big city), messy long drive to get there too.

I've never driven an outboard tunnel hull before. I've driven a few inboard, big block Chevy tunnel hulls and they are wicked fast but scary. I much prefer a flat bottom or a runner bottom like I used to run.

I will always regret selling my Sanger. :(

That’s a cool looking boat. :props:

I’m not really a boat guy, I don’t dislike them, they just don’t squeal my wheels like . . . Uhh, something with wheels. I like the look of this one. It has a nice shape & I also like your old boat too Mike, it just looks right. Oh, & that other one you done a while back . . . A Gaston? I hope I got that right? Kinda looked like a 50’s/60’s car with the big wings on the back, that was cool too.

Haha, I guess if the boat looks right, then I’m a boat guy. :xyxthumbs:

This looks like a fun project. Geeze, you have a good team with you so far too Mike. I don’t know if Frank has been back to Autogeek much since he moved but I bet he’s looking forward to it too.

Have fun team, I just know you’re gonna make this into a real gem. I look forward to seeing the results. :buffing:

I agree. Very cool looking. The boat arrives tonight around 7:30pm, I'll be coming down to open up the garage to let the boat in so it's under lock & key and also under our security cameras.

Fun starts tomorrow first thing in the morning!
