Body shop Glue removal

A potential customer had me look at his car today, a body shop fastened the exterior door guard plastic years ago and the glue pushed out from the piece and onto his paint. He asked if I could remove it.
I have Goo Gone and some strong acid based Concrete/Sap remover. Anyone have something that worked for them?
