I didn't want to highjack that thread, so I've started my own. I'm probably going to feel about 10cm tall after asking, but here goes.

What is bookmarking? How do you do it? What is it's purpose?

I know how to right click on a page and save that page to my hard drive and I've heard of bookmarking, but don't know how it actually works.

Help!!

Hey Bill,

Bookmarking is just something you do to save a link to a webpage.

If you are using Internet Explorer, you can do this by clicking on the "favorites" icon, it has a star icon next to it.
From there you click on "add to favorites" and then click "add".

Now you can access this page easily whenever you want.

Right clicking on the page and saving it is something completely different.

Hope this helped

And if you're using Safari, click on 'bookmarks' at the top menu then click 'add' to save the site to the directory of your choice.

Yes, I am aware of how to save to my favorites. I actually have many websites saved as favorites.

I also have a yahoo toolbar, that I never use, that has an icon (that I just discovere) with "+" mark/symbol in it. When I move the cursor over this icon to highlight it, a dialogue box appears that says "Add bookmark." There's also a drop down box that appears with other commands. I guess I could try one and see...I guess there are computer features I'm still afraid to explore or experiment with.

Another question.

I like to use functions particular to this forum, i.e. forum tools, to save subsribe to particular threads. I don't, however, wish to receive emails telling me there's been another post. In fact, I just subscribed to a thread that I'm not posting in, and one of the boxed said no email notifications...which is what I wanted...I don't want email notifications. However, I keep getting notifications whenever someone posts to one of my subscribed threads.

I've tried going into useer cp to change it, which I thought I had made the correction, but apparently I'm still missing something.
