So a new client contacted me about doing his car. The car is brand new off the showroom floor, JMlexus . When he purchased the car, the car looked shine but he knew that was something off with the color. It didn't have that true black deep wet finish, more like hazy than anything else.

He brought the car to my shop and wasting no time, I started working on his car.

I couldn't really see how bad the paint was due to the terrible weather but wait till you guys see the before.

Starting with the washing and decon....

Notice the weather, terrible. Also I couldn't even use my huge Canvas, the rain was blowing everywhere so thank God my detailing bay.

After all the washing and full decon of paint, glass and wheels I started with the test spots.

*Now what you are about to see is pretty nasty. I highly suggest not to be eating while you see the pictures.*

But first....

Products used:

FG400
HD Polish
Eraser
Flex3401
LC CSS Orange, White
Mezerna PowerLock
IronX
Sonax Full Effect
Nanoskin prep towel
I probably used more products just can't remember which ones. I got so many.

Paint condition before. Now usually I tend to take a lot of before pictures. I think it's pretty safe to say, only 2 pictures will be enough to document the car.

Hood

Side Door

The entire car was in that bad shape. So I worked with his budget and did my best within his budget.

After a few passes with FG400 (not polished yet)

Time was a huge factor because he wanted to surprise his wife with the car and we all know that we love to take our time to make it perfect but I only had about 8 hours the most to get it done.

After the car all polished up. ( no sealant applied yet )

Looking like a mirror already.

Love this shot.

I finished the car with only 20 minutes remaining before they came to see the car. Enough to take some after shots.

Beauty Shots.

I even had time to kind clean the interior a bit. Nothing crazy.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice. You should recommend that he OC his wheels. Most don't own a power washer.

Wonderful Work my friend!

I enjoyed the Subject, Brand new they say ahhahaha, so true!

The results are top notch, car looks gorgeous, properly black.

Congratulations on this one.

Thanks for sharing,

Kind Regards.

Oh my god!!! I honestly got sick to my stomach when I seen those 2 first shots. What in the F*** kind of new car delivery is that?

Almost like the Dealership washed this thing with rocks?! lol

Needless to say, you brought back the condition of this paint to what it should of looked like when the clients picked it up. :Picture:

Keep up the great work :)

I have the same car. I love the color but it is a lot of work. It never ceases to amaze me how a Dealer can mess up such a nice car's finish. Lexus has very nice looking paint, when they leave the Factory.

Thank you. I will let him know next time for sure.

Yes it was. The clear coat on these cars are very thin.

Excellent work. You really brought out the beauty in that paint and the car.

It just boggles the mind that a 2014 new car comes from the dealership with the paint that hammered. That will never cease to amaze me.

I have seen brand new cars in bad shape before but this was the worse ever.

Top job mate !

When they say Brand New , it means , Brand New Swils From Dealership . lol

Sad but true !

Fine work indeed...

It's a shame that even a high end car line like Lexus won't pay for a delivery crew that knows what they are doing.
I guess they think it cuts into the profits.

Agreed. And there is where all the professional detailers could make a profit and customers would be thankful to them.

Personally to save the hassles from both myself and the dealership, I politely ask the dealership not to do a car wash nor take off the plastic sheets on the car prior to delivery. That way, it takes less time to fix whatever slight damages due to transit.

Thanks guys. I was surprised that at least they paid him back half of the work performed to his car. They already contacted me about future projects and willing to spend more if they have to for fine work.
