Hello,

I did spot reapir with paint and clear coat .

Before :

After :

How i can bring the shine to the this repair ?
Maybe wet sand and polish ? it will do the job ?

Sometimes more and more work doesn't equal better and better results....

If it were me, believe it or not I'd probably go with a really really safe approach..

First, get a clean soft foam applicator pad. You want something more stout than foam but still real soft, so a short nap microfiber applicator pad.

Then get a super high quality compound, either Uber Compound or Meguiar's M105 or Ultimate Compound.

Then rub FAST with a very light touch. Let me say it again... use a very light touch.

All you want to do is smooth over the very top surface. If you rub to hard you'll likely undo all your hard work as you're remove too much touch-up paint or even heat up the touch up paint and pull it right off.

See this article,

How to use a hand applied abrasive polish or paint cleaner by hand

Working by hand actually requires more skill than working by machine.

If you bring your car by Autogeek I'll show you how... first hand... (no pun intended)

:)

Thank you mike for the help :) .
I will try using ultimate compund , like you said , and i will update the result :) .

Did you clear it?

If so, I am interested in what technique you used to blend the clear so there is not visible edge

Just curious, why wouldn't 2-3 coats of Opti-coat work best to cover this.

I'm thinking 2 coats to seal the repair and a final coat to cover the vehicle.

He is trying to bring back gloss to his spot repair on the bumper. How would opticoat help that without prep work like Mike recommended? Opticoat will just cover what is there..

1. Yes , I clear it 3 coats .

2. when you spraying base coat and clear coat , You dont cover around the scratch .
That way you avoid getting the edges of old and new color.

Yeah, I meant after prepping and instead of spotting the clear. Would it work well? Prep, 2 coats of Opticoat over the fix and then coat the whole vehicle to blend.

Ok, I see where what I'm asking doesn't really belong in this thread. I was going more with doing it in a different manner and then using Opticoat instead of clear (I have no painting experience).

Your way is more of the route I would go personally, no worries. The way you stated it before just didn't apply to the OP at all.

Hello ,
Today i wetsand and polish the repair area .
I wet sand with 2000 - 2500 grit + Polish meguiras - Ultiamte Compound .

This is the final result :

what you think ^ ?

The new clear coat is shine , but the clear coat of rest the car is little dull .
Any way to improve this ? Or maybe it's a problem with how I have painted ?

**the car is never polished or clayed .

Thanks

Clay and polish the rest of the car!!

The most likely reason the rest of the silver is dull is because it has orange peel (very hard to see on light colours). You should do a small test spot. Use 2000 grit wet sanding paper and veiw at a an angle. If you see dull and shiny spots then you have orange peel. The good news is the shiny spots are clean coat so by getting a uniform dull surface you should not burn through the clear. If you are nervous then just go 80% and buff out the rest. DA set at 5 with orange cutting pad and compound will easily remove the sanding marks. If it works on test spot carry on with rest of car. One caution-when compounding on plastic your pads can get real hot in a hurry-so check them often.
