The last couple of times I used my Brinkmann Dual Xenon it wasn't working right. I use it mostly as an all around flashlight in the garage, to see behind seats, etc... What was happening was, at first, the bright setting wouldn't work, then the lower setting worked but then only one of the lights would light. Expecting that if the batteries where dying that all settings would look dim, but work. So, I decided to take it apart, clean all the contacts, look for broken connections and loose wires. Here's what one looks like apart:
... Then, I ruffed up the battery connections with a file, bent out the prongs for tighter contact, stretched out the trigger spring, and coated all contacts with dialectric grease. Then, it hit me, maybe that's what happens when the batteries go bad on this thing (it's pretty new): the high setting stops working and then eventually only one bulb works on the low setting. So, I replaced all the batteries. Put it all back together and it's working perfectly. Only problem is, I'm not if I actually fixed something or if this is what happens when the batteries go bad. Anyone know?
High setting:
Low setting:
Thanks in advance!!!!
