I had the pleasure to work on a 2005 Jaguar XJ Vandenplas today. It was absolutely hammered, having some of the worst contamination and swirling I have ever seen. It gets driven to the train station everyday where it sits for 10 hours a day or more.

So I brought it down to my house to get working. It was only supposed to be a wash and wax with an interior detail however I thought I would do something extra since they had me do 3 of their other cars. I urged the owner that it really needs some legitimate paint correction but that will be another time I think.

Process+Products:

-Megs Gold class shampoo for the wash (2 bucket method)
-Amazing Rolloff on the tires
-XMT 360 on a CCS orange pad via PC
-Wolfgang DGPS
-Collinite 915
-XMT Final Finish
-Megs Endurance shine
-XMT 360 by hand on chrome
-Rain-x on the glass
-PBs wheel sealant
-Flitz metal polish on the exhaust
-Woolite+water on the interior
-Gl0ss it gloss enhancer on the windows, dash, and wood
-vacuumed

Onto the Befores: horrible!

Paint Correction: I can never seem to fully capture the extent of the swirls, but trust me it was abit worse than the pictures show.

My attempts at a 50/50

This is the worse 'film' Ive ever seen a window get on the inside, which made for an interesting 50/50 (the squigly line on the window)

Wow very nice. That interior really was a turn around.

I was SHOCKED when I saw the interior after pics, I was like, "wow, it looks better than new"

^^

Great work! Interior looks fantastic!

BRG really hides its color with contamination, I love seeing before/after shots of these types of cars where the color is revived.

great job man!

How are you liking the XMT 360? It looks like it did a nice amount of correction for a pass!

Thanks everyone! Shame I saw it pull away this morning to the train station haha.

Ryan: I actually really like XMT 360, it doesnt have a very long working time which is good and bad. I also used it in the direct sunlight in the middle of the day for this car and those are the results I got. I have a suspicion that it was more the mechanical action of the Orange pad rather than the abrasives in the AIO. Nevertheless, it made a great difference although it wouldnt have allowed me for a full correction. As a bonus, it leaves a very slick and smooth finish and the sealant seems to last a few months.

I love XMT 360

This pictures makes the paint look like a pool!

:righton:

Wow very nice detail. looks awesome. I have to try the XMT 360 looks like it works great.

Very nice job. I didn't know you can use an AIO-type product such as XMT360 with an orange pad and then go straight to a sealant!

Thanks for the compliment! Definately get some, it doesnt seem like much but when you use it (depending on the pad) it can really turn a car around. I got mine for $10 with a BOGO, so I got 2 for the price of one!

Thanks Emile. XMT360 supposedly has sealant in it but I never rely on it as a LSP. It left no marring whatsoever, and you would have seen it in my sun shots if it did!

Yeah, I am a big fan of OPT Poli-Seal but when using by machine or by hand, I never really just do Poli-Seal and then leave the car alone. I usually top with a wax or non-cleaning sealant.

Thats exactly what I do too. But both leave a great smooth base for any wax or sealant one might choose.

Very nice recovery on the Jaguar. I really want to go and kick some peoples you know whats, who buy these wonderful vehicles and just run them down to the ground. Maybe we should all charge these clients 10x's the amount from our everyday rates. LOL

Again, wonderful job.

This is good news. I am having a $100 detail event coming up in a couple of weeks and am looking at this vs. the meguiars aio.

The interior was nasty as well. I really didnt like the brown carpets in the car, as it looked dirty even though it was clean and made me feel like it let the car down a bit. But who cars, if there was space I would have no problem living in it. :)
