Broken Daytona Brush - Any Warranty?

Do you bend it a lot? The metal will only bend so many times before it breaks.

Any warranty on these? Got it from AG about 1 & 1/4 ago...

did the handle pull out (giggity), or snap off with some of the metal still in the handle?

if it's the former, just epoxy and go! Really is a matter of how the shaft (giggity) is mounted (giggity) in the handle.

I have one that did the same thing. No biggie.

(innuendo much?)

edit - didn't see so well in the second pic and it looks like a clean break. I'm sorry that I don't have any advice for you there :/

It snapped. What's giggity? It just broke today. Yes I bend it a lot. But I only use it on my own 2 cars. Just wondering... Is this the lifespan of these things, or do people have some that are many years old.

I have all 3 wheel woolies but they are no good for my wheels. The big one is too big and the middle one is too small. I use them for other things.

:nomore: Can't stop laughing!!!... "Giggity" refers to the character Quagmire on the Tv program Family Guy who is just a sexual deviant and gets excited at everything sexual (i.e shaft etc..)

Gotcha. I don't watch any TV. Just old movies and documentaries.

Looks like that brush has seen its fair share of cleanings. :wow:

Time to order another one! :dblthumb2:

Sorry for the obscure reference, Swanic. Glad your day was brightened, Dr.! :)

The weak spot of the Daytona and EZ Brushes are where the shaft goes into the wooden handle. I use two brushes..one bent 90 degrees that remains bent. If you keep bending the shaft it will break. Always grab the shaft near the handle and not the handle when shaking the water out of the brush.

The handles break right off of those things after continued bending of the shaft.

The best brushes are straight brushes that don't allow for bending. Those virtually last forever if taken care of.

Amen! I do the same. Buy just two brushes and keep one bent, or buy one and bend it until it breaks.

I'm going to fix it in a way that it will not break again. I have 2 if the Jrs, and I realized I only really need to bend those at the handle.

Were you holding the brush by it's handle as you shook water out of the brush? That is guaranteed to break it. I am still using my original brush after three years now. I bend and straighten the brush section several times with each use. But, when finished, I hold the brush by the wire shaft to shake out excess water.

I broke mine recently. Never once have I bent it. Very disappointed as consider it poor design not poor use.

Probably. If something like this lasts most people 3 years, it will only last me one. I certainly got my money out of it. I'm going so see if I can gather some parts together from the hardware store to repair it for about $10. It it's more than that, I'll just get a new one. Since it "snapped" - repairing it will shorten it a little bit.

It snapped flush with the handle, so I can't get the broken piece out of the handle. I think I'm going to try to cut the handle AROUND the wire piece broken inside, just enough to get some Vice Grips around it. If I can do that, and get the wire out, I can epoxy the wire part back in the handle.
