I recently had the windshield replaced on my 2007 Acura TL-S due to flying debris on the freeway. The installation shop did a fantastic job except those @#%&!s instilled some scratches on the hood and both front fenders. I did not notice them until I got home. I did not go back to the shop and complain since my insurance covered the repair ($1000) and I could take care of the paint correction myself. However, I was seriously PO'd and decided to take out my frustration with the Flex DA. I wanted to see how the Optimum Polish worked but it does virtually nothing on my paint. I have pretty hard clear so polishes such as OP and Megs #80 basically act as a pure polish with no correction. I originally started to only fix the hood and fenders but the paint was looking absolutely spectacular so I decided to do the rest of the car.

Process:
1) Wash with Megs Gold Class soap and dry with a Toro electric leaf blower.
2) No clay since I just detailed the car within the last month.
3) 50% alcohol wipedown to get rid of QD and sealant.
4) Machines: Flex XC3401VRG DA polisher / PC with 3.5" backing plate for 4" pads
5) Meguiars DACP (#83) with Megs Yellow (W8006) polishing pad x 1 pass
6) Pinnacle XMT360 with LC White polishing pad x 1 pass
7) Four Star UPP
8) Hot Shower.........Yikes!

I recently bought a Digital Rebel XTi so here is my first try using this camera. I'm still getting used to all the features including some of the manual modes.

Some of the scratches I found on the fender.

Detailing with a clear bra is a royal pain in the butt! Tape...Tape....Tape....

Some nice reflection shots.

Spectacular. Someday treat those flakes and dark paint to some WG Fuzion. I saw what it did to the flakes on Meghan's car.

Both the results and photos look amazing! Great Job!

You read my mind. I'm just trying to pony up the $175.

Great job..Amazing reflections...I have the same car with the same colour and i really love it.....

it is so funny to see this post, as I just had to have the windshield replaced in the SRX. It was a small company referred to by insurance company and I was worried about scratches in paint and bad or wavy glass.

I got lucky and their install was top notch, even in work parking lot. Best part it was an OEM glass to. My only issue is it needed some polishing with Glass Restorer as had some light water spots.
