Hello all,

Would appreciate some suggestions please. Been so busy getting my product an MFs taken care of I've neglected an important of the process, brushes. I have a big'ol tire scrubber, a Pad scrubber, a lug nuts brush & interior (soft) brush. My feelings is I need a good wheel brush as well as an exterior brush to handle the engine and other nooks on the car. Please help me fill in the hole. Thanks folks. Take care.

Race glaze has a nice 5 piece set that works well on emblems as well as interior duty. Like $30 for the set. The black boars hair brushes sold here at AG and most other sites work great on lug nuts and hard to reach areas on complex wheels.
 
I have been through so many different brushes as well. I have found that the wheel Woolie has been the best so far. Its on the $$$ side but it gets in the well really good and well. Ive tried the other ones like the EZ detail brush but the just make a bigger mess when you are cleaning the rims. Woolie gets in there with making such a mess when you are taking it out. its pretty thin that you can bend it and make it to your preferred angle. Hope this helps.
 
at the moment I believe these are only available in the UK, but have wondered who sells them here in the states if at all. this brush looks like it would work really well in the wheel wells...

This is the vikan brush. Very durable and the bristle is soft enough for wheel well. I have been using for 1 year plus with regular use and it still maintain its shape. The top part/head where it holds the bristle is made of rubber, a feature you probably will appreciate when you try squeezing the brush in between spokes to clean tight corners.

I would prefer the brush head to be flatter though. If you don't remove the wheel to clean, half the time you will struggle to squeeze in between the wheel and wheel well comfortably for scrubing action. Other than that, very nice and universal brush.
 
We have sort of a brush addiction. We have had up to 15 different brushes in our wheel bucket. I am just not sure the names of them. We have since narrowed it down. We did try the Speed Masters and they worked nice but they lasted about 2 months before the metal got weak and it broke off by the handle. I am not saying they are a bad product, it just seems to be the flaw in those types of bushes for us. Maybe we are too rough with them. We have another brush that looks similar to it that has lasted a little longer but in the end the metal tends to get week. I recently got the Griots wheel lug brush and I love that thing. It's not cheap though but I use it for the lugs and the corners of the spokes. I will try and look them up so I can list them.
 
I used the Speed Master wheel brush for the first time this past weekend, and I wish I found it sooner. It makes cleaning the wheels soooo easy!

I don't know about the metal issue OCD mentioned since I didn't bend the metal. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the metal broke after 2 months, especially if you detail daily.
 
I used SmArnold brushes for a while, they work well for the price. i recently invested in Wheel Woolies and will never look back. i have the 3 pack and the 12inch angled brush, they are awesome!!
 
As far as the speedmaster wheel brush, get two and bend one, keep it bent. You can use the bent one to reach around the spokes and the straight one for regular barrel cleaning
 
I agree the wheel woolen are by fatlr the best for a lit of jobs. I have used them on many a car and they have not fallen apart or anything. The only thing is the logo is almost gone on the 2 inch brush. But they are awesome.
 
I've found the by holing the speed master at the top of the handle and partially on the wire it takes the pressure off the weak area. Also don't apply a lot of pressure on the handle, this greatly weakens it. I agree with get two, bend one and one straight. I've also been using the commercial one?? With the wooden stick handle. This works great for wheel barrels, wheel wells, motor compartment. It doesn't have the weakness that the wires do.
 
Wheel wooly 3 price set here. Not the cheapest, but works well.

I've used the EZ-Detail version of that. The regular versions are nice because of the wire, but I reall like this brush too.

I use all three Wheel Woolies, the medium angled Wheek Woolie, a regular EZ-Detail brush, Mother's wheel face brush, Atlasta Soft Tip Brush, a boars hair brush, and mitt occasionally for wheels. This is all for customer cars that are bad.

These cover everything.


For my car, I have simpler wheels but also maintain more frequently so I can get by with the medium Wheel Woolie, EZ Detail brush (which I KEEP bent at the tip), the Mother's face brush, and sometimes a brush for the lug nut. The Mother's face brush works well in getting the lug nut area clean though.
