Whenever I'm washing my car and using a pressure washer, I never have a place to sit the wand. I'm always trying to "balance" it on top of the buckets and it falls on the ground. Same thing when I'm sitting next to a wheel cleaning it. Basically, I have a bucket next to me (brushes inside) and just end up sitting the pressure washer lance on the ground. Also, I end up doing the same thing with brushes I use to clean wheel wells because I don't want them to contaminate my wheel cleaning rinse water.

I don't like sitting stuff on the ground. For one, I'm lazy and don't want to pick it up. Secondly, the ground is dirty, and I don't want to be touching dirt when washing my car. Also, the pressure washer lance gets all beat up from sitting on the ground all the time.

So, I had another one of my (not so) great ideas. I made a little caddy mount for the pressure washer lance (or hose) on my rinse bucket out of PCV pipe.

A clean place to sit a towel or whatever:

A place to sit your mitt if you don't want it in the bucket for whatever reason, or to dry it after its cleaned:

Can stick your hose nozzle in it (imagine hose attached), so you don't have to sit it on the ground:

Bucket will be filled with water when using, so it won't want to tip.

Covered it with RTV:

I liked the idea so much, as I'm always looking for a place to sit something and end up trying to balance it on the end of my bucket and it falls on the ground. I ended up making another one.

One is a rinse bucket, one is a wheel bucket:

Everything (minus the buckets) was under $10 at Home Depot (enough to do two buckets)

Thanks for Looking.

Brilliant! I'm liking it for the tire brushes. The best inventions are simple yet very effective.

I was thinking about something similar but just do not bolted to a bucket. I was looking for a brush organizer but like the mitt holder idea.

Interesting! I even have some plastic pipe laying around. Hmmm.

Foregoing the ingenuity of swanicyouth's invention, Bunky...

H-D has a: "Bike-Wash Bucket with a Multi-pocket Apron".

What diameter pipe did you use?

2" pipe. They had "remnants" at HD for a few dollars. I thought about it a while and figured 1&3/4" was the best size pipe, but they don't sell that size. The caps on the bottom of the pipe are glued on with epoxy, and I just drilled holes in them so any water won't build up on the pipe.

The bolts are 1/4". I tightened them down with lock washers and applied thread lock to the threads. They are pretty tight. I cut little notches out of the plastic skirt thing that goes around the top of the buckets with a rotary cut off tool.

I was originally going to mount it on my bucket dolly, but then I realized I don't use the dolly when I clean wheels (1 bucket) - and that's half the time I wanted it. So, I came up with putting it on the bucket.

Great tip mate. My pressure washer has a built in holder for the nozzle. I´m also very "anal" about anything touching the ground since I have alot of gravel around my garages. BTW, that´s alot of detailing stuff you have; but like myself, there´s no such thing as "too much"!

I only pressure rinse after a cannon presoak. I then unhook the hose from the pressure washer and go back to the regular hose nozzle for rinsing during the 2 bucket method.

Great idea.

Hey swanicyouth!!!! Were you in the military. I couldn't help but noticed all your supplies are in "Formation". Kind of like soldiers on a parade.
