Some of you may or may not do this already. Just wanted to share.

In Wisconsin here during summer there are mosquitoes, Flys, moths, butterfly, and every other type of insect you can imagine flying over the roadways. This leads to mirrors, bumpers, hoods, top of roof by windshield getting all peppered with bugs and guts.

Every other maintenance wash I will put on a quick coat of wax with a microfiber applicator on the areas mentioned above. Quick, maybe 10 minutes tops, and helps the bugs fall off and not bond to your clear.

This is great for the bottles amd product laying around of wax that you rarely use anymore and is just taking up room on the shelf. I have been doing this process on my personal cars for 20 years or so with great success!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I was thinking that a Bugs screen
just might work... :dunno:

I do same thing as well as putting on a fresh coat right before I go on any kind of a long road trip. The bugs seem to almost rinse right off & those that don't clean off easily.

I have a 2016 Buick LaCrosse in the non-metallic white. In south FLA we have to deal with Love Bugs in the summer months. When they spatter on the car, they leave red residue, like they are sucking the lifeblood out of your car.

After the last DetailFest, I applied two coats of Poorboys World EX-P synthetic sealant to the roof, hood, side view mirrors, front fenders and the grill/ bumper area. That provided the protection for the bug acid from getting to the paint, then I layered Meguiars Ultimate paste wax (a synthetic wax) about a week later and have been quite happy with how the bugs come off easily with a wet microfiber towel.

In 3 weeks we're taking a road trip down to the Keys. I can see my car collecting a few thousand of Florida's meaty bugs on the way down. So I'm going to give the Dupli-Color Custom Wrap product a try.

In NJ, we do not get love bugs, but mosquitoes, moths, greenhead flies (they killed the dinosaurs,,,not a meteor), and these large green leafy-looking things called katydids. Since I live in a rural area, every trip in the summer results in multi-color splatter. Been using Meguiars Ultimate Wax (sealant) on the front of our vehicles, and the backs of the mirrors. Doesn't keep them from sticking, but they do come off a lot easier.

For removal of these little things, I highly recommend Kenotek Anti Insect

I Been using colinite 845 for Years. Before any Road trip Hit My bumper, grill, hood, mirrors and windshield. Most Of the bugs come Right Off.

The Griot's Garage Bug Barricade works pretty good at preventing the bugs from sticking to the paint surface. I always keep a spray bottle of Waterless Wash in my truck so I can quickly remove any bug splatter & bird droppings from the paint surface of my truck.

Griot's Garage Bug Barricade!, Griots Garage Bug Remover, Insect blocker, bug shield, bug blocker

Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash, no rinse car wash

It's interesting that the product description doesn't really say what this product is. Polymer sealer? Wax? Something else? Sure does look interesting.

That is nothing! Come to Australia in the middle of the spring/summer and then you will see bugs
its rains bugs.

From the side mirrors, windscreen, front bumper people even put a green shade cloth over the
front of there car to stop the bugs getting into the radiator fins and blocking them up and cause the
car to over heat.

Blimey mate!

That's pretty much how it is in Australia, but worse in the Top end.
