Bug remover

Are there any bug removers that won’t take the wax off? I’m currently using McKees bug remover and like the job that it does, but not the fact that it takes the wax off with it. Thanks in advance for your help.

What makes you believe the wax is being removed?

I've used it for a while now - and found the opposite - but I use sealants & more recently coatings....

I would also try it diluted @ 1:1 (stated ratio) - and see if that helps?

Also as an FYI - write up specifically states it will NOT effect wax - so you may also try reaching out to them to see if they can help with the issue.

What kind of wax do you have? As in organic like carnuaba or a synthetic wax.
If you have a organic wax it's hard to find a bug remover that don't do a number on it. Also I think that if you aggitate it much when takeing the bugs off. The aggitations alone can be the problem that take of the synthetic wax or sealant. Cause if you heavly aggitate it with a bug sponge that is often quite aggressive you will take of the thin protection that is on your paint. Aggitations is also upping the effectiveness very much even with a mf towel. So finding a bug remover that desolves it to be rinsed off can be of a benefit. With a organic wax you also useally have oils in it that is desolved by a bug remover easly.

Do as grovlet suggested and try it out in the 1:1 or even weaker solution. And see how that goes if you don't already do that. Don't know how and if the Sonax Insect Remover is on an organic wax. But it's a great product that useally on a well maintained vehical you only spray on let it dwell and rinse off. The little that can be still on there is often easier to wash off afterwards. Or do a second application and maybe a gentle aggitate with the Sonax Insect Sponge.

I useally pretreat with a weak APC solution before useing the prewash foam when I wash. Then the water pressure from the PW clean the bug squash off easy. But this depends on what kind of bugs you have problems with. And high alkaline based APC can be desolving both wax and sealant if too strong. Dilute it down to either normal dirt dilution or weaker.
