I have Wolfgang Sealant on my black Silverado. I wash it weekly and I always have bugs that need to come off. I spray the bugs with water, apply poor boys bug squash and let it dwell for about 5 minutes. Then I mist the areas with bug squash with water and then wipe with a microfiber wash mitt and the safe scrub bug sponge. I then spray off the bug squash spots with water. After doing this, I dry my truck and I still have bug residue on the paint. What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this?

Your doing it fine and right, but that's what bugs do. Ruin your work, ruin your paint, ruin your clear coat. Down here in the south we have love bugs, they ruin cc in 2-4 days etched forever.

You could try taking a damp towel and laying it over the effected area after you apply your Bug Squash chemical. This will allow longer dwell time without fear of the product drying on the surface.

My wife's car has the same problem. She spends a lot of time driving in rural areas used for growing crops for work. The bugs are insane. Often due to work schedules and such, it will be a few days before I can de-bug the front of her vehicle. By then it's too late. At this point, I just try to hide the damage as much as possible and keep it from getting worse.

Bug Squash and a bug sponge are your best friends. The trick is getting to the mess quickly before it etches the paint. Some times it isn't possible.

I usually wash the car, then hit the front with a clay bar using my detailing spray as lube. This gets 90%-100% of the bugs off. The other 10% I take off with my steamer. If you don't have a steamer, you can get the rest off with a small pre-soak and wipe as others have said. My advice, use clay.

Are you sure it's bug residue and not actually etching or staining from the bugs?
When I was training our new guy I noticed he kept scrubbing the front of this car. He says, "These bugs won't come off." I walk around and look at the bumper and have to explain to him that these little matte marks and such are the effects of the bugs etching the clear coat.

Can you post pictures please?

The one question I would ask is are you reapplying dome kind of wax/sealant after your process? I ask this because if that's not the case, as strong as Wolfgang Sealant is you are using a strong dedicated cleaner that I suspect isn't but not sure isn't PH neutral. ... I can see that especially over time a brain or completely break down your protection making the bugs ofcourse more of pain to deal with.
