I was looking at several bug sponges and it seems people like the Pinnacle one more than any other.

Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Pad can be used on glass, chrome, vinyl, fiberglass, paint and clearcoats—100% safe when used with soapy water.

I'm not positive, but if you like another one more please chime in.

The main point of this thread though is asking what is so special about this sponge? I have a .97 sponge I got from Home Depot a while ago. Why would that not work and be any different than a $6 sponge?

Thanks! Im the MAN

This sponge is not like a normal one, you would swear the first time you saw it and felt it that it would scratch the living crap out of the paint. It took me some time to work up the guts to use it but when I did I was pretty impressed at how well it worked. Ripped the bugs right off and didn't leave one mark in the paint.

I've had that one a couple of years and I love it. I usually put a bit of ONR on it just to give it added lubricity.

Oh okay then! I guess I will try it! I was wondering what's so special about it :)

It's awesome! Just keep it in the bucket and wet. When its dry its like a brick! Removes bugs like nothing else and doesn't scratch. I usually wash the front end gently and softly with my mitt first to remove sand, etc. Then the bug sponge gets to work!

Not only is it a good sponge to do the job it was intended for..and do it safely..but it will last a LONG time..
Now if I could only find a dedicated BIRD CRAP sponge!!!!!!

Do you use just water this the sponge or what? I'm getting a sample of Poorboys Bug remover soon! :)

How about wipes?

I have this sponge and it's awesome! I use it with poorboys bug squash and haven't had any issues yet. If you can let it soak in warm or hot water for 5 min or so. That really softens it up. But works soaked in cold water too just doesn't get as soft.

The bug sponge works really well. I have given it to two friends after I found out how well it worked.

I used to keep it in a separate bowl of hot water just like your saying.

I missed ordering one of these last time, but I'm definitely going to pick one up now. Sounds like a great product.

We need this sponge on BOGO, especially at this time of year!

I just toss mine in my wash bucket when I'm filling it up, by the time I get to the point of needing it it s nice and soft.

You're not gonna need that PB after getting this sponge ;)

Yea, dwayne is right. The sponge itself is a fantastic tool. It work reAl well when combined with Pb bug squash.

You should get them both tomorrow! At least according to the POST OFFICE....but who knows with them.

I actually have an extra, wish I would have known you wanted one before I shipped the samples out.

I just got one of those sponges with Diamondite Bug Eraser. Haven't tried it out yet. It is very scary feeling when it's dry!

if the sponge does not scratch, would anyone use it to pre-clay a car since it could abrade some contaminates off making less work for the clay?

I will endorse it too. I soak a few minutes and dont apply any force. Just guide it over the carcasses disappear! I will presoak bugs with a spray of UWW+ and let dwell a few minutes!
