This car had some bird droppings sit on it for over a week and needed some major attention. The etchings from the bird droppings were so bad I could feel them through the sandpaper.
I used:
1000-3000 grit sandpaper
M105 with tuff buff wool pad
M205 with LC orange pad
Meg's m21 sealant with red pad

The paint on this car is absolutely beautiful. Deep metallic blue just popped all over when I finished. Dark color cars really give you that satisfaction when you are done. The owner was speechless!
 
OMG when I first read the post I thought you wet sanded the whole car from 1000 up to 3000. I almost fainted wondering why you went through all that.

No just the bad spots:buffing:
I was very impressed with how fast the wool pad cut through everything. I may have found my new favorite pad:)
