My mother has a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The passenger side of the bumper that bolts in broke and is now flapping. The bottom of the bumper scraped on a curb and it was enough force to break the mounting tabs. I need to see if the tabs can be repaired or if a new bumper cover will be needed either way I think some paint work will be needed.

Is there anything I need to be specific about when I speak to the repair shop? Questions or things I need to tell them? Hopefully they can match the original color, nothing is worse than seeing teo different shades on panels.

It's a shame because the paint was near perfect (almost no defects or swirls).

Tell them to cover the car before they paint and under NO circumstances polish anything other then the bumper

Explain to them you are conscientiousness of proper paint care. a.k.a., NO SWIRLS,NO BURNT TRIM

I would wash it before you take it to them, but don't dress anything

If it were me I'd tell them to take the bumper cover off the car, and keep the car out of the shop until they're done with the repair(s) and are ready to reinstall it.
