I'm getting a new bumper cover for my 14 BMW 335. The body shop (who is very good) said I couldn't wash the car for two weeks. They seem mostly concerned with auto car washes because of the pressure. I can't see an issue with a gentle hose without a nozzle.

Anyone have experience with this? What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Never heard of not washing a car after paint work. When I worked at a body shop we used to always wash the cars before they left. Paint was usually only 24 hours old. I've heard not to wax but never anything about washing.

^ same here... we always washed before the vehicle left too.

But it may be best to listen to them. In case any damage does occur. You can't be blamed for it.
