All those little black dots that get baked on the engine manifold and some ion the inside of wheels. Anyway to remove them? Tried various chemicals and tools but don't want to scratch anything. Will a steamer work with this?
I have always been pretty successful with a scotchbrite pad on those types of deposits. Soak with IronX or a wheel cleaner then follow up with a scotchbrite pad for the inside of the wheels. Not sure what to do with a manifold, but I would probably try a fine grit sandpaper since it is not a painted finish. Could always pull the manifolds and have them coated if it is on your personal car.
You could also try to soak and then scrape them off with a plastic razor blade.
Easy-Off Oven Cleaner. For isolated spots don't spray it. Rather spray some onto a piece of foil and the use a small paint brush, q-tip, or the equivalent and then brush or dab the oven cleaner to the spot you want to remove.
