Over the past few months, I've been trying to think of a business name for my mobile detailing service. I have been detailing for a while but this is the first year I've actually wanted to try and make good money with a side job.

I have thrown my ideas out to friends and co-workers but they all get mixed reviews. I know everyone has an opinion like everyone has a certain body part, but it seems like it is absolutely impossible to find something that isn't currently being used that everyone likes.

I want to name the business something classy because I hope to have higher end clients in the future and I don't want to have to change my name because it sounds too childish and doesn't speak for my work.

Other than "Detail On Demand", i can't think of anything else that I haven't seen being used right now and I feel like that best describes my business model because I will be absolutely mobile and by appointment only.

Please help my fried brain, AG! TIA :xyxthumbs:

This is a hard subject it took me a while to come up with my name . One guy uses it as a detailing business in another state . And a few others as hair salon's and so on. But I am satisfied with it and no-one in my state uses it . Try to find something that describes your work . It doesent have to say your Mobile or anything. You can use a slogan or put that information on you card or web site to state that your a mobile detailer.

HD Detailing

on duty detailing

mobile shine

Mr. Shine not to be confused with Mr. clean

mobile to mobile car pampering service.

on the go detailing ( I think I may have heard that somewhere)

nooks and crannies detailing service. ( not to be confused with crooks and nannies)

hot wax car detailing

Stripper scented detailers ( sorry was from an older thread)

You have to have something simple that states what you do and where you do it. This way it will hit much harder on google which will be your #1 source for new business.
Raleigh Mobile Detailing
would be the best choice. I would check to see if you can also purchase that URL as it will help your searches greatly.
I know this is probally not the sexy name you where wanting, but this will get you the most business. When people want your service they will google mobile detailing in Raleigh and BOOM! there you are. Noboby is googling for "Detail On Demand" or "Details by Frickman".
Vanity must always take a back seat to business if your going to make it.
Good Luck!

After googling Raleigh Mobile Detailing, there are no business names like that but their google link is Raleigh Mobile Detailing word for word. Is that something that would cause an issue?

If it is not their registered name then no. You could license it no problem. They may be using it for search words. I checked and it seems that RaleighMobileDetailing.com is available too. Jump all over that even if you dont have a website yet.

Thanks for the help. I hate to assume but did you make the transition from your sweat the details name to your new name due to business flow? Or just because?

Yep, started out as STD(lol) then went to DandD. I turn business away now. But i lost all my google/bing reviews when i changed it so its definatly better to pick right in the first place. I would also suggest you get Renny Doyals book, lots of good info for the business side of detailing.

Sounds good. I've got Renny's book but I'm only at chapter 6 lol

Imo, the name means almost nothing. Its all in the work you do

For example:
'A-Class Auto Paint Reconditioning'.. Sounds good, very high end and fancy. But if your work is boo boo, than what does the name really do for you? I mean the name does mean something but only to a certain degree

Just like performance shops: AMSmotorsports, GarageOne, DDPR, MonkeyWrenchRacing, Cobb tunning, etc..Their just names, no consistency or pattern in names. BUT, they all are powerhouse shops in their work as well as the market they target

In short: name is a name that connects to a face.. Even if you name yourself ZebraCakes detailing.. If you do excellent work, great customer service, honest.. Ppl will wanna go to ZebraCakes for a detail

I agree to an extent but that name is directly related to your reputation just like you said. If you do good work, having a name that suits that work would make sense to me. If you are ZebraCakes detailing, they might love your work but your business name wouldn't attract the clientele looking for a professional detail job. I agree with the randomness and inconsistency but I think there does need to be some sort of professionalism involved lol

Oh def on the professionalism.. ZebraCakes was just to get my point across lol

Unless ZebraCakes Detailing would give their customers some zebra cakes :D perfect marketing, ha

Little Debbie Detailing sounds like a win/win for everyone.

Hahahahahaha STD haha

I had to do some digging but there is a guy here in town using Raleigh Mobile Detail but it's advertised as a different name on his website. Confusing, but it's taken.

How about "On-Scene Mobile Detailing"? Trying to throw a little bit of firefighter touch in there. Hard to turn down a fireman doing business! Right?! :dblthumb2:

Yeah, that's why I need a good side job. I wanted to use something but also don't want to confuse the general population with our "lingo".

On The Road detailing

Non Stop Auto Detailing (that was my unofficial name lol)

On the spot detailing

But like I said.. I don't really think you need to incorporate that you're mobile in your actual name.. In whatever vehicle you use to work, slap a sticker/slogan stating you're mobile
