I'm buying this makita 9227c today after i get off of work and the guy says it comes as depicted. What will i need to make this work with a foam pad and wool buffing pad. I have a pc7424xp and am new to the rotary world. Any help greatly appreciated ahead of time :buffing:

Assuming that backing plate is hook and loop, you'll have to measure it to determine what pad sizes will fit that plate.

My suggestion is getting a wool pad and a backing plate, you don't need anything other than those. It is because you re new to rotary, so finish with your trusty pcxp is your best bet for swirl free finish.

I have the same Makita, fantastic machine and relatively low learning curve. Purchased the rotary 4 3/4" backing plate and have been using my 5.5" flat pads to learn on it.

Man... I forgot what a new one looks like. Meguairs makes an awesome flexible backing plate, it's either 5 or 5.5" it's all black and only cost me ~$10.

Also, the spell check app is a good attachment. ;)
