Can you liberally hose down the cabin air intake screens at the back of the engine compartment or will that introduce water into the vents that could mildew and smell later?

Hi. I'm sure others will chime in but I'm not sure I would 'liberally'... as in large, general amounts... spray h20 in the engine bay. Some water yes, but not sure I'd go nuts with it. Too many electrical things. Good to cover those anyway sometimes. Some folks might say those things are 'designed' do get wet but why chance it with 'liberally' sprayed water and/or not covering. As far as the screens, I too then would also just use some caution and maybe not try and spray directly into them the best you can... way to be thorough though!...

If you're concerned just put some towels, even paper towels over the vents. That should be sufficient.

It should not be a problem, they should be designed to drain away a decent amount of water.

I would not dump a full 5 gallon bucket straight in them but a hose should be fine.
