Hello gent. I have a 2017 Audi RS7 with the silver painted 21" wheels. The car only has 12k miles but a couple of the wheels have brake dust or some other matter caked on and it will not come off. Tried M105, wheels cleaner, etc, nothing touches it. I drove the car to Tahoe last winter to go skiing and it sat in the wet rain and snow in the same spot for over a week, I think this did it. The entire care is covered in brake dust after driving it just a few days so that's why I think it's brake dust. Any suggestions?

Any of the good wheel cleaners should help. I have always found that the brush you use makes all the difference. I love my Speedmaster wheel brushes. They give the perfect amount of abrasion to remove most of the brake dust without scratching the rims.

Meguiar's Hot Rims Chrome Cleaner is on the acidic side. It is safe on the wheels as long as they are clear coated. It will require some agitation.

I have some chemical guys wheel cleaner and it was like rubbing water on it, even using a decent brush.

I agree with useing an acidic based wheel cleaner. May take a couple of rounds with it. Use a leafblower or a car blowdryer or dry the wheels between the applications of the acid wheel cleaner. To get it so it's not diluted with the water on the wheels after the rinses. You can also try with an iron remover if you have at home. I useally switch between an acidic based wheel cleaner and a dedicated strong iron remover. Just rinse off thoroughly and dry it between the application either product so you don't mix them. If possible take off the a wheel or 2 and you reach the back of the spokes and the barrels easier when cleaning them up.

Wow, the acidic wheel cleaner worked along with some elbow grease and good brushes. Everyone on here was absolutely correct. I ended up using Hot Rims since it was available otc. I'll post pics of the results later. Thanks everyone, they look 100x better.
