Caliper Paint

Anyone that does this have a preference of manufacturers - i.e. G2, VHT, etc.? Also, any hints, other than masking the area well? Looking to do disk and drums in about two weeks after I get some new wheels.

What I have read is to take off all 4 wheels at the same time as, once mixed, the paint doesn't have a long shelf life. What the heck, I guess one end up with jack stands and the other with the floor jack??????

Jack stand all four corners! I used G2, worked well for me. Paint the calipers on or off the rotors. I painted them off the rotors. I used high temp BBQ grill paint (black of course) for the rotors (outer edge and center high hat). Prep everthing (clean well, mask off the lugs) before opening and mixing the paint. And don't apply paint to any part of the caliper that is machined. Clean the rotors (important) after you finish painting.

G2 all the way. It's a great product. The kit comes with everything you need. I have used it several times on all of my cars.

We did this on my past Vette and its messy and dries towards the end of the paints use. Quite thick for paint. If I do it again, I would have them professionally powdercoated even with the huge price difference.

I've only used G2 (black) and it turned out excellent.
My only tip would be to get everything together to do a complete cleaning on the wheel wells and back side of wheels before the calipers.

+1 for the G2 brush on paint...Prepping them is the most important step!

I would recommend powder coating it, if you comfortable with removing the calipers and reinstalling them later on. Near me its about $30 for both and will last way longer than regular paint.

4. Wood stove or grill paint.
