Can a 2 7/8" backer be used with the 7424?

While I've never tried it personally, I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work.... They've obviously manufactured it for use on this style of machine so give it a try and tell us your thoughts.....:props:
 
I just ordered one for my gg6 . they all should fit accordingly to da's less the 3401. I opted for this also instead of gettin a gg3 .

:iagree: You know Chad, after replying to this I was contemplating the Griot's 3" unit but buying this makes a lot more sense....:props:
 
Yup, just ordered myself the 3" backing plate + 4 3" hydrotech pads! It should work just fine with my 7424xp hopefully
 
I was confused because it says "Use this backing plate with your Griot's Garage Professional Random Orbital 3 Inch Polisher."
