I have a can of 476s and a bottle of 845 that are a few years old (like over 7) and the last few times I've used the 845, the longevity and beading that I've gotten used to just isn't there. The last application was last Friday and the beading during this week's rains has been less than spectacular. Prior to applying more 845 Friday, I washed the car with Deep Crystal Wash and the beading was completely gone.

The 476s is about the same age and I can't get it to apply at all. I even tried to soften it up in the sun (the can got HOT) but the wax stayed very solid and still didn't spread on the pad or let itself be applied to the paint.

I shook the 845 really well and I know it was mixed together, but it just didn't have the same effects as it had before. Should I just toss these two containers and get new? I'm pretty sure a new bottle of 845 would be the fix, but I'm not sure about the 476s, does it always act this way or is it just because it's old and maybe a bit dried out?

I don't have the answer but I have some newer bottles and we/I would test out the two side by side to see the results. We're due to get together at some point soon so don't toss them out even if you replace them.

With the 476, try wetting your pad, with water, then applying the wax as usual. This has worked for me with dried out wax.

Did either of them freeze over the winter(s)? That can kill a bottle of just about anything wax according to most labels.

I've had my bottle of 845 for about 4 years now, and it applies and protects as it did when new. Can't speak on the 476 paste, as I've never used it. But suspect it would be compromised by freezing as well.

I don't know about 476, but my 845 is almost 8 years old. Its still works like it did when new.
I use many sealants like Menzerna paint protect ultra,Blackfire, Wolfgang
But when puting a coat of wax ----- Collinite 845 is my go to wax

I must confess, they did have to rough it in the garage this past winter ... memory lapse

My bottle of 845 is about the same age, except mine has seen some near/below freezing temps in my garage. Still works like a champ with no issues at all.

Living in New England I have leaned my lesson a few times. Around December or the last real hand wash of the year I bring most if not all of my products inside the house and leave them in a spare bedroom.

I use to leave all the products year round in the garage but it just gets way too cold.
