Hello This is the question for these pics... I have a 2001 BMW Z3 in Atlanta Blue that has a fair amount of road rash on the front bumper... I need to know if Dr. Colorchip can help with these spots or if I just need to pony up and pay for a repaint on the front bumper (the Zed is a DD and sees a lot of highway miles so "perfection" is not necessarily a goal just better looking)...

Here they are...

Thanks,

yeah, it'll work. Not 100% but it will be better and much cheaper than a respray...

My wife scraped up the bottom of her front fascia on her new Hyundai Sonata, which is very low to the ground and completely took off a large section of paint.

The Dr. Colorchip helped out quite a bit. It is not the same as a repaint but it is not even noticeable from even a few feet away.

I also repaired a few scratches with the color matched paint and you cannot tell that it was repainted at all. I believe that the investment is worth the money for your cars situation. It will definitely improve the appearance.

Cool thanks guys... The other question have about DRCC is can you buff it after it has had time to cure? I need to buff the front bumper out and make it shine again as that is the only part of the Zed I have yet to do because of the chips... I am not going for show car results just an unswirled/scratched car that will look good!

Its recommended you buff out defects before the Dr Color Chip according to their site.

I did read that... I guess I phrased my question wrong... After the DRCC is done is it buffable like when I do a detail on it for a car show or what have you?

Yes - you can buff it once it is fully cured.

The next question will be how long does that take. It dries within minutes but I can not recall how long the Dr. says before it can be buffed. Check their information or contact them directly. They have excellent customer service IME.

My mom has the same color on her car and the same problem. I might have to give it a try
