Ive heard some people used ultimate polish in direct sunlight or cloudy day outside.. i dont have a garage or anywhere to block the sun. so i was thinking should i polish on a cloudy day or just polish in the sun. Does it really matter please help..

It's okay to work in the sun if it's not hot outside and the body panels are not getting too hot.

This morning the sun was out but it wasn't hot yet. There's a difference between the "sun being out" and "hot".

When the paint is hot, it's going to make any product want to dry and become harder to work with and harder to wipe off.

Read my article here, lots more in my article list...

I try my very, very best to never "detail" in direct sunlight (it's HOT!! outside).

However...
I think what really matters is the panels' surface temperature.
That's my honest viewpoint.

Anyway...
Here's another very good article by Mr. Mike Phillips that may
prove to be quite helpful for your set of circumstances:

Temperature being one thing but when working outside, do inspect carefully so that there is no foreign particles on the paint that can potentially scratch the paint.

As long as you work in small sections you will be fine. I have been working in the sun for years and have never had a problem. Make sure your pad is primed correctly and that you are using the right amount of product. If something dries out on the paint use a quick detailer and it will come right off.

You'll get there. :)

That's all it really is about - confidence to try the new things, and confidence to gain the experience (i.e. make the mistakes) and then learn from the experiences, and others', to grow and get better! :xyxthumbs:
