Can you Clay Bar Rims?

I have stock 2013 Land Rover rims. I believe they are brushed aluminum.
 
I've done a few and they really pick up a lot of stuff. I have a clay bar that I just use for wheels.
 
If they are the OEM wheels, they probably have a clear coating on them as well. Clay baring will really clean them up nicely, and depending on the age of the wheel, might even make them look noticably better.
 
I would think using a decontamination spray such as IronX would remove the iron particles and other above surface contamination. I still have yet to clay bar rims.
 
After you clay your wheels make sure to only use it for the wheels and never on your finish.

You'll need plenty of lube.
I did my wheels on my 09' RAV and man it took time, it was like a magnet hard to move at first, I threw the clay once done because it was trashed. Lol
Now they're smooth as glass but I'll have to maintain them because in no time they will be in the same shape as when I did them.

Yes, however use old demoted clay for rims.
