I hope I posted in the right spot..
Pep Boys has select canopies on sale-I'm looking at this 12'x12'
'slant leg'
The 10'x10' 'straight leg' is on sale also & it says it has a bigger shade coverage area.....Anyone have any experience with these?
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Sorry about the pics...

Never used one from PepBoys but I regularly use a pop up tent. It has been so long since I purchased it that I dont even recall where I got it from. I think they are great for mobile detailers, and a must for the summer season.

That sure is cheap!! My set up covers 15x20 and cost $1800.

Hows the durability on that one? Ive gone through 2 ez-up's 12x12's bent frames on both with mild wind :( they were cheap through only 150, looking to get something made a little better if not I'll be modifying one myself :) any suggestions?

Is there a sale in the 10x15? I think I'm going with that one. I just wonder how easy it is to set up...

1. Unless you have someone to assist you in set-up/take-down: make sure you can handle those procedures safely when working alone.
2. Buy/fabricate weights/tie-downs or other means to secure these canopies--no fun chasing them up the street or watching as they tear roughshod upon your clients vehicles/property
3. Save for procurement of one like Superior Shine's :) LOL

I need an extra garage and that's a good price. Hope my neighbors don't mind. Do these things do okay in tornado season?

Thanx FUNX

10x15 at Pep Boys are $189 ~$199-no sale- Same price I've always seen 'em there
Those 'seem' to be the most durable out of all the ones they sell though

Your welcome.
If you don't mind: I might add that you should make sure that whichever canopy you purchase fits securely into your vehicle of conveyance [in the folded-up position of course :) ]

Good luck with your new canopy---just don't do any "shady deals" LOL

tornado season??? probably about as well as a mobile home... ;)

can anyone recommend me a good canopy that will not fall down on a slanted cement driveway? Mine is slanted at about 40-45 degrees..

I'd love to have one of those. My neighbors would think I lost my mind though.

Matt,

You worry too much. My neighbors already knows I lost mine and I'm comfortable with that!

You do realize that you would be hard pressed to walk on a 40-45° drive, right?

This is about a 35°, and an example of a poor driveway:

If you are steeper than that, a canopy isn't your issue, standing up while detailing is. :D

Thanks for the links guys - some good deals to be had for sure.

I have two 10x15 canopies as well, I was always needing shade in the driveway, so I bought these a around 4 years ago, I used to put them up and take them down during the weekends when I was working on a vehicle, but that was a total pain. Last summer I decided to leave them up all summer, I gave up caring what my neighbors think a long time ago... Usually it's good for business! I only gave about half of what Joe has invested in his, I think they were around 400 each. I anchored each leg with a 5 gallon bucket full of water and a bungy cord and tied and staked the top, it made it through a lot of thunderstorms last year.

Wow, that is an awesome photo. Do you know where it was taken or if it's real. How do you even pour cement like that? Any car (truck) with enough clearance to make the angle at the top of that wouldn't fit in the garage door. Awesome.
