I live in Indianapolis IN where we have had a hot humid and wet summer. A couple weeks ago I thoroughly cleaned the inside of my 2003 Z 71 windshield with invisible glass. I followed their instructions to a T. Two weeks later you wouldn't even know I cleaned it. I don't use my Air Find much, prefer windows down. At this point I don't know if I did something wrong, is there a better product or is it the combination of the heat humidity and the rain that's causing problems. Any advice is welcomed.

Get some fine oooo steelwool and drench the inside glass with stoners and massage the steelwool on the glass. This will cut any residue or smoke film.Use a clean microfiber to swipe the intial cleaning. Then use another microfiber and spray again but without the steel wool for a final streak free glass.make sure you clean all the corners of the glass with steel wool.If you don't ,you will be pulling hidden dirt and it won't come out good.Dont use steel wool on tint. And try to do this while the glass is cool, wouldn't hurt to do the exterior as well.

Holy cow, I know you do this every day, but I'd try this before steel wool: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...indshield-review-blackfire-glass-cleaner.html

Do you use a greasy/oily dash protectant? I've noticed with even a good quality light dash protectant, that when the dash sits in the sun, the off-gassing from the protectant can cause a film on the windshield.

Steel wool is totally safe on glass. Its the residue embedded or caked or melted on the glass.Thats where the steel wool comes in and breaks it up.Glass cleaning has a technique and good product.without the technique even the best glass cleaners won't yield 100 percent streak free.its safe to use on glass.

The interior glass will need to be cleaned regularly, especially your windshield... it is not something that will just stay clean forever if you don't touch it.

Yes as a matter of fact I do and did treat the dash that day. Should have included in the post I am a Non smoker. In an earlier reply from another senior member he mentions stoners. Not familiar with this are you. I was hoping that someone would comment on Invisible Glass, in terms of good product bad product.

If you have any water based degreaser products, I would apply that to a MF cloth and hit the glass with that. Then go back with a glass cleaner for final cleanup.

I've started to use Matte Detail spray on interior windows and am so far liking it.

Stoners makes some of the best glass cleaners on the market. They sell both an aerosol and a spray version. The aerosol works great on interior glass because it doesn't drip onto your dash (it's better to spray the microfiber instead of the glass, IMHO). AG just introduced Blackfire Wet Diamond Glass Cleaner and I prefer this to Stoners (or any other glass cleaner). You won't regret trying the new Blackfire WDGC.

Hi Mike. I've used Invisible Glass for years. The problem is not the product or even the windshield. It's the age of your interior plastic. As your vinyl and plastic age in the sun they do what's called off-gassing. Essentially they give off chemicals like water evaporates from your skin in the sun. Here are a few suggestions.

1) Try a product like Stoner Trim Shine on your dash. It's made to add those specific chemicals back in and help stop their evaporation in the future.
2) Thoroughly clean the window with Invisible Glass again after you've used the trim shine making sure you use one clean microfiber to polish and another to dry. That should eliminate the future streaks.
3) When parked, use a windshield visor. The cheap Mylar looking ones actually do a good job. That will keep the UV rays from beating down as much on the dash AND it will catch any gasses that are still being released.

1999 to 2005 vehicles are notorious for this off-gassing issue just like many of their headlight plastic deteriorates to that lovely milky-yellow shade that's so popular.

What towels are you using? I also agree with Italiano but you need to have really clean non crosscontaminated towels. I use IPA and water for my windows And sometimes for really dirty ones distilled water and a little little little bit of dawn dish soap first then the IPA water with a different towel from the one with water soap. Mikes review with the clack fire cleaner is a good one and shows people that struggle with windows how many towels it can take. Also I find it much easier to clean a windshield when it is cool. Good luck man.

For my personal vehicle, I simply clean it with Meguiar's Glass Cleaner concentrate and two glass towels. When I clean windows on other vehicles that aren't cleaned very often, I'll clean the window first with IPA and a magic eraser. Then I'll go back with a glass cleaner and two towels.

This is very true. I have a 2001 Accord and a 1995 Infiniti that do this. They both have newer windshields, but have always been notorious for getting fogged up from gassing after 3-4 weeks. They clean up just like any other windshield but around the 3 week mark the haze will be visible.

I I habe used Meguiars perfect clarity glass cleaner and really like it. I use it aometimes but I find the water IPA mix is more cost effective and also very effective.

Stoner's Invisible Glass is a good product, many people's favorite, in most people's top 5 as a glass cleaner. The organic solvents in your dash treatment have obviously evaporated and clung to your windshield. Over time, this will diminish, you'll have to keep washing your interior windshield until it subsides. What did you treat your dash with?

I'll chime in a recent experience.

WARNING: I have a lot to type.

My quest for doing interior particularly:exterior glass has been a nightmare since I purchased my 09 Accord last August.

Every single thing I have tried had also left a hazy, foggy streak once I turn on the car early morning.

Sometimes the glass will look good as soon as I'm done and sometimes even in direct sunlight it's awful.

Keep in mind I have detailed in the past non-tinted Windows also..

My first norm is believe it or not straight up water and a squeegee and a towel to wipe up left overs etc.

My second norm in the past: since I had the steam cleaner out I would use that method to clean glass with the steam squeegee attachment.
Since some here don't have that method I would then try to figure out a way to clean glass the traditional way (towels and cleaner for the job).

Fast forward to a few days ago till now, I have been making things to test out myself with ONLY the things I have around the house. FAIL. COMPLETE FAIL.

So one of these past days I was sitting at my desk working, to my left peaked the bottle of carpro ceriglass polisher/cleaner I bought from AG last September. I read the label and it said cleaner.

So I ran to the car and tried that out straight up and remembers to a certain level how messy it can get.

Then I grabbed a 32 ounce spray bottle and diluted it 10:1, gave it a solid shake and gave it shot.

RESULTS: used it with a squeegee with MF towels to wipe off the rest...

By far the best results EVER! Even came out AMAZING with a direct sunlight shine.

It doesn't stop there.. The next morning, there was none of that haze I mentioned earlier. Ergo, this passed the test with flying colors in every which way I can hope for.

Carpro, if you are reading this.. ::Wink::

For people who do not have the carpro ceriglass, I would recommend a sample to try.

For those who have this product, let me know your experience, I am curious.

Thanks for reading my book!

doing the same as the steel wool then... glad it worked for you..

I save my ceriglass for scratch removal on the outside.. for when i have a spare half day and arms that aren't yet hangin off..

I have been recommended this product in the past, but have not had a chance to try it...
