hope you guys have already seen this, if not we definitely have to bombard them and ask them to take the article down or CORRECT it. This article is full of misinformation including claiming that using a rotary on paint "liquefies the paint which then flows into the swirls and scratches thereby removing them"!!!

Lol...just read the comments. Theyre getting torn apart anyway. It is indeed a terrible article. It's sad that a "reputable" (I use this term lightly, especially after that article) could post such a terrible article. I'm sure they have the resources or ability to get the resources to create a decent article. If that's a DIY for new people to detailing, I feel bad for their cars.

Sad.... The worst part is you know someone has taken this articles advice and their new rotary is on its way from amazon right now.
 
Isn't this the same rag that named the top 9 detailers in the Country? Intresting...
 
One thing that really bothers me is you see a lot of different ways to remove swirls, etc on the Internet. Some wrong, some right.

However, you see less on how to maintain your vehicle to reduce swirls etc in the first place!!!!
 
Holy cow! That is horrible. I love that someone got credits for "photography". Really? Looked like high school graphics to me. And did you notice that clay bar was the first product listed under the article, but wasn't even a mention in the text. What a piece of junk journalism that is. Sad really.
 
What speed do I need to run my Flex PE 14 to get enough heat to form this viscous surface to fill in the defects? Mike didn't teach us that technique in 101 or 201. Maybe there will be a 301 viscous wheeling class. I'm pre- registered.
 
This is way I take most of what I read in magazines with a grain of salt.....

C&D just doubled our business???

Idea:
  • Magazine subscriber lists are for sale.
  • Many of us are looking for more business
  • Wonder if a bunch of us could chip in, buy a list of C&D subscribers in our zip codes, then pitch them a 'C&D repair' detail package.

Could be much more profitable than the 'winter wax' special I've been considering.

i was thinkin the same, i wonder how many readers would try to get c&d to pay for it...
 
They should print a retraction on this garbage.
