A friend of mine just got basically his whole car covered in overspray from an aerosol paint can, his dad was painting in the yard and the wind carried it.

His car is a 2015 Individual order M3, painted in a special color.

He has clear bra on the bumper, fenders, hood, and rear quarters.
the clear bra has ceramic pro light on top, the rest of the car has a coat of 9h and then one coat of light on top.

We tried claying and that seems to get most of it out but its almost like a game, because some of it that you lift off just stays in the liquid of the lube and can settle again.

Is there anything else we can try to get this stuff off that might just dissolve it or do we need to polish the whole car and wreck the coating to truly get it off?

Polishing won't remove that, buy a nano pad from ag skip the lube and use carwash soap nano each section at a time dry the panel inspect it ,then repeat the whole process over again and try not to marr paint by keeping the water in the bucket clean and the car clean good luck .

Smith, what kind of clay are you using? Different clays have different level of abrasive fine, medium ect.. If you used a fine clay first guess would be to bump up. Nanoskin pads make for easy work if you have a polisher. If you don't there's also nanoskin autoscrub prep sponges. They do a great job with over spray removal aswell

I was using adam's so it was fine grade, I'll try using a mild clay.

Just powerwash it off like all the videos.

As others have mentioned, clay it, it may help to have a second set of hands holding a hose above the work area so water can suspend and carry away any deposits as they are released.

Nano pads leave little to no marring if used correctly, keep the pad wet at all times.

Optimum Opti-clay towel, HD version and keep it sprayed down with rinseless wash made up as a quick detailer.

Good luck and btw, any pics of this special color?

His Instagram is @blue.m3 if anyone wants to follow the car's build.

Avoid that towel,it's like washing your car with a bag of walnuts.
