Hello all, I have two cars that I need to store outside as I have no more room in my garage to put them. Will using car covers scratch the paint? Can anyone recommend a brand/specific cover? Thanks

In my opinion, yes, using car covers will result in abraded paint. No matter how well you secure the cover to your car, wind will blow abrasive particles up and under the cover. Then, as the wind causes the covers to ripple and possibly flap in the wind, the abrasion begins and continues.

Yes, when people say I want to polish my paint to perfection and then put it under a cover I just cringe.

No matter how careful you try to put them on your have to slide them across the paint, then once the vehicle gets dusty with dirt and you go to take it off, That's when more trouble occurs.

Either way your a loser if you do or dont. Car covers are tricky

My issue is after removing the car cover, the next time I use it will inevitably scratch the paint.

I dust off the exterior, I rolled it up in a manner where the inside doesnt' touch the outisde.

Problem is, parts of the car cover will touch the tire. I did my best to clean the inside, but there is no way it is 100% clean. I'm also not going to throw this in the washing machine.

Another problem is that wind causes the cover to flap and slide around on the car.
