Does anyone use car covers? I park in full south Texas sun because the birds in the surrounding trees can really do a job on a car...and the stuff they leave behind- won't Even go there.

I have one for car while stored in garage, I would only use a Covercraft and consider the Weathershield (outside) or Satin Stretch (inside).

There are many types of breathable fabrics available. The big difference in price between the cheap covers (and tarps) and the good covers is due to the breathable fabrics. Never ever cover a car with a non-breathable cover. Condensation build-up under the cover can do lots of damage.

I have the max cover from empire its a 3 layer cover made from Tyvek developed by DuPont.

I have a Covercraft Noah cover outside.

It definitely protects the paint from the elements but it is large (for a Dakota) and I need help putting in on since it can mar the paint. Using it on a daily or regular driver can be problematic since you cannot wash every time before putting on the cover.

When I remove it, the truck is not sparkling clean. I think water condenses underneath as temps go up and down during the day so the paint looks slightly dirty and a film gets on the windshield.

However, that is minor compared to protecting it from tree excretions and bird bombs.
