That Da power system is horrible. I bought it and it did nothing and drove me insane. That's when I moved on to the flex![]()
What's interesting is that they both forced rotation.
I guess, but it didnt do any correction, was not at all ergonomic, pads were not great either and lastly it wobbled and my arms were a mess later. Also, it was extemely awkward with the drill. This is with ample pressure and everything.
Maybe my drill wasnt powerful enoough, or maybe my paint (golf mk7 gti) was too hard, I have no idea. The guy seems to have gotten results though...
That's what led me to save up a decent amount and go for the flex in the end.
And now, it's (DAPS) just collecting dust in the back of the closet. What a waste.
But it does remind me of that Ultimate Compound youtube vid from the Asia dudes.. You know which 1 right? That vid is great.
The dude lays down his tape for the 50/50 shot, it's a black BMW that appears scratched to death [appears] It's baking in direct sunlight, but he's a boss so he doesn't worry about minor issues like that.. He slaps a yellow polishing pad on his Megs DA, shakes the bottle and spreads a circle of Ultimate Compound on it, puts the cord over his shoulder, turns the dial to speed 4 and begins his little half hood test spot..
He runs the polisher with ease across half of the hood, then he casually begins to fold his Supreme Shine microfiber, and finally wipes it off with ease to reveal what only the polishing gods at Meguiars Asia are skilled enough to do. [the Americans can do it too. Lol] It's absolutely perfect! Omg that stuff is just too sweet I need some of that!![]()
Well if you haven't seen the vid here it is. This is actually 1 of my favorite vids. It cracks me up. Lol. I love everything about it. Sometimes I'll even put it on my headphones when I start polishing a car to get me in Boss mode like I'm about to kill these defects Meguiars Asia style baby! Lol.
... I don't know how OP pulled it off, not only with that DA Power Sytem, but what appears to be questionable technique.lol. Hey maybe the fast forward speed decieves my eyes, or maybe that paint is soft as warm butter... But in the end it doesn't matter. It worked for him and that's all that matters right?

I'm curious about the water test between two products that don't offer any protection.

@OP. I hope you know I was only kiddingKeep doing your thing and showing your subscribers what you can do to make their cars look amazing.
LMAO! I remember that video rather well. One of the vids I watched when I first started out, and that too with the old megs polisher and barely any pressure... and I thought to myself damn hes skilled. MY application dusted like mad...oh well..... Still made me lol though.
Half a hood, UC, no dust and Asian sun...yeah right![]()
OP has to have some soft paint for that to work. I was a bit skeptical with the last step where little finger dabs of polish were laid down, but what do I know, it probably works for him and it did get results so :xyxthumbs:
yes the paint is soft, it takes 15 minutes (compound) for correcting the hood (yes it's exhausting)
and maybe around 10 minutes for the polish
Do you see any Cadillacs in your neighborhood? I'd like to see you compound and polish 1 of those with that DA Power system. Twice the real estate, and paint that's hard as a diamond. That would be impressive.![]()
