Car vacuum! I need ideas!

Hey guys. I decided I'm tired of paying $2 each time at the car wash to borrow a vacuum, only to have it shut off on me 2 minutes in. Can anyone recommend me a good car vacuum with plenty of attachments for small nooks and crannies in the interior? Thanks! Also, preferably affordable <$150

4 gallon rigid with the car vacuum kit is all you need. Sorry can't remember the model of the top of my head. But 3+ yrs later it could still suck start a Harley.

This.👆🏽+ Ridgid Auto Detailing Kit $40.

I have this exact vacuum and I can tell you it's got "car wash strength". [especially when using the 2.5" attachments]
You won't be disappointed.

Side note: I don't use the Orange hose included in the Detail Kit. Many people love it, but the truth is it throttles the suction a bit. You'll have to decide whether or not that's a big enough factor for you to use it or not. For me, it's a dealbreaker. However, the attachments in the kit make it worthwhile.
 
That's a good Vaccum👆🏽I've used it before.. That's actually the 1 I intended to buy when I made the trip to HD. But when I saw the 14 gallon including the Car Detailing Kit for only $20 bucks more @ $100 I couldn't pass up the deal.

Does anyone know whether the Car Detailing Kits attachments can hook up to that vacuum? Only reason I ask is because I think that vac uses 1.7/8" size attachments.

When I went looking for my vac at both Sears'(Craftsman), and then HD(Rigid). They seemed to have any attachments you could possibly need to make any transition.

My Mom actually had a brand new Craftsman that she never once used, and just gave it to me, which was cool. And after going and buying a detail kit from sears for it. I also was able to be numerous other attachments from HD. All fit universally for me.

The hose my machine came with was a 2" + something hose, and I was able to transition it down easily to 1" something. I am very sorry I don't know the Exact diameters off hand. But I know that nearly every scenario I put together, they had some kind of fitting to make it all work.

Mine's a 3hp, and it's all I probably need, but I would like to step up with a more powerful suction soon.
 
@Willowcat11. That's cool that you were able to obtain a Shop Vac vac for free.
As far as the Ridgid vac attachments, there's a few vacs they make that people complain about the Detailing Kit not fitting. I believe it's the ones with a 1.7/8 hose..
The 2.5" can adapt down to fit 1.25" easily, but I'm not sure if the 1.7/8ths can do the same because they might not have the adapters.. There's alot of people who complain about it on the reviews.. Oddball size.
 
Yeah, that bothered me a little too when searching. That 1 7/8's is goofy, but I swear Sears has the attachment to make it work. I'm going to search online to see if I can find it.

The small hand help Metro Vac is a beast! It's ultra powerful. It's compact size makes it easy to handle vs big bulky shop vacs. I rarely use any of my other vacuums after getting this. Their is also a detailing crevice set available for it that is great on dashes, vents etc. And they are made in the USA and well within your budget.
 
My Metro Vac n Blo is now about 7 years old and still working strong. I have abused the heck out of it and it's still going. I understand it exceeds your budget but for me the quality of this unit has spoken loudly to me. I probably would have been through at least a couple of cheaper vacs by now and i can't see this thing dying. Basically, to me, it was well worth it.

I will say that i use mine to clean customer interiors and if you are just doing your own vehicles you might be served well by a less expensive vac.
 
I have the WD4070 vacuum. The suction is not as good as the Metro but if you are only going to have just I would get a wet/dry type.
