Carpro Cquartz Lite hardness?

I don't know if it has an actual rating, but I use my old suede applicators from Lite and CQUK 3.0 to sell a coating package.

The suedes I used with Lite don't harden up as much as the CQUK 3.0 suedes.

I'm not sure I understand why any of the coating makers bother with the "9H" hardness claims. Any coating goes on so thin the hardness isn't relevant, IMO. They aren't protective like a PPF.

Surprised coating hardness is still brought up.

Same could be said about gloss readings, anti static dust repellents, contact angle, sheeting being better than beading, not being able to use aluminum polish on chrome or even clear plastic, silicone based tire dressings, acid based wheel cleaners being anymore harmful on wheels than alkaline based wheel cleaners, the list goes on and on.

Doesn't look like it is published anywhere. Noticed Carpro doesn't include it for any of their coatings on their corporate site.

To the op do a google search for the 2022 CarPro catalog. It’s in the spec sheet PDF. Read the bullet point about hardness on the spec sheet.

Simple question asked..no real answers.

Feel free to post up the answer

If I knew the answer I would. Since I didn't know, I didn't post a reply.

I don't know official numbers but I can tell you the product hardened like a true ceramic coating on my suede sheet. I m sure the product will last over a year on the car easily.
Only issue with lite is that its not a "slick coating" if you care about that.

Thanks
Appears to be 2h, for the full as well.

Hardness doesn't protect from stone chips etc?

The only thing 'h' hardness really protects from is marketers being unemployed.

As the fine print states from their spec sheet.

Up to 2h

HARDNESS IMPROVEMENT
(hardness depends allot on the clearcoat)
