Hello everyone,

Today I'm going to give a short review of Essence Plus on uncoated paint car. I was a Menzerna Powerlock fan, but after browsing here and there, I finally bought essence plus last week. At first, I'm afraid that the application will as complicated as CQuartz or any other ceramic coating (Yeah, I have to learn a lot about how to apply coating properly).

First I polished my car with Menzerna SF-3500 and then topped it off with Essence Plus (DA + Black Finishing Pad). And the results you can see below

On scale 1-10:

Looks = 10 (if you prefer glassy finish)
Durability = still unknown especially I live in tropical climate with high UV and temperature, I will report back 2-3 months from now

Application isn't as very easy as Menzerna Powerlock. In some areas that perhaps I applied a little bit thicker than the other, I have to wipe off 2-3 times. Also I found essence+ a bit dusting than Menzerna Powerlock (little to none). But I think I will play more with Essence+ than my Menzerna. I love how my car looks after using Essence+, Essence+ also fills about 50-70% swirls on the roof (I didn't polish the roof).

Conclusion: I think Essence+ can be an alternative paint sealant for people who are looking for 'ceramic/nano coating' looks but with easier application.

Essence yes, don't think + will hold up at all.

Essence + holds up in terms of hydrophobic properties around 2 month or so in Canadian winter.

Well, we'll see how essence+ hold up after several washes (based on the waterbeading and sheeting).

@WillSports3 do you apply essence+ above coated paint or just simply on bare paint?

Thank you for sharing your experience. Any report on the durability? Did u try topping it off with reload or any sio2 spray? The car looks great. Thank you in advance.

I think this is going to get you a couple of months of decaying durability. I've used it several times for spot "repairs" of swirled areas, and the areas are fairly quickly noticeable again -- usually a couple of months later. On the other hand, it is nice to have around for doing quick visual touch-ups.

I'm seeing 6-12 months of durability from Essence+ depending on aftercare in the Pacific Northwest.

I've used it and have since given up. I have a nearly full bottle in my cabinet for no real reason. Not a fan.

On its own I got 4 months out of it on a DD. Topped with Reload its going strong from March this year. I feel Essence Plus needs Reload over it to seal it in and improve hydrophobicity. Essence Plus definitely adds something to the paint, it gives uncoated cars a coating look for sure.

Hello everyone, now please excuse me because im going to type using Indonesian language since the thread starter here is an Indonesian like me.

Hallo bro Jonathanss,

Thanks Bro.
Salam hangat...

Reload over it? Something else?

All summer I was just ramming the fleet through the local touchless wash because I was too busy to deal with washes. Beading fell off slightly but everything still looks glossy and if I slide a towel over the paint I can tell the product is still there.

I decided to repolish the car back in August due to heavy swirls when my sister took the car to auto wash (she didn't tell me if she brought to the el cheapo auto wash). Well, from march til August I may say that water beads and sheeting still held up pretty well except for the lower section of the doors and lower front bumpers. I guess this particular sealant can withstand Jakarta (to be specific) harsh weather and pollutants. Nope, I didn't top up with anything. I washed the car regularly with Sonax shampoo once a week.

However, I have a problem about storing this sealant bottle. After several months, the sealant came out off the bottle just like a mustard. Although you have shake it hard, it still came out like a mustard. Anyone experiencing like this?

Is that a mobilio OP?

Yes, that's a mobilio.

Ada kok beberapa orang indo di AG ini. hehe. Anyway, kalo handmode cukup pake pad busa standar aja usap2 overlap 2x satu body, lalu kalau saya akan tunggu sekitar 5-10 menit baru saya hapus lagi. Tipis2 saja jangan ketebalan.

I did several cars at the beginning of 2017 with Essence primer and Essence Plus on top. 2 weekends ago I had a Honda Accord that I did back at the beginning of March. So that would be about 8 months. The Essence Plus was still very glossy with good beading and sheeting still. Definitely did not look/act like a 8 month old sealant. This past weekend I redid a Subaru Crosstek that was done in early February and I was seeing the same thing. I didn't think that either car needed to be redone, but the customers are used to bringing me the car about every 8 months and they like the freshly done look.

I think we are selling the durability of Essence Plus too short. At least as a stand alone sealant over Essence Primer.

My bottle of Essence Plus was like that from the beginning. I do shake it lot, probably 2-3 times longer than any other sealant I use. I also shake it during application. I does not look like a smooth creamy lotion. Something like curdled milk.

I've tried it twice, and both times hydrophobic properties were poor.

Application process as follows: Wash and decontaminate vehicle, apply Essence Plus via DA machine with finishing pad, allow product to sit for ~0 minutes before removing. Wipe off was a breeze and the product was quite easy to use, but as mentioned, the hydrophobic properties were quite poor.

<- Essence Plus | Bare Paint ->

It seems some people experience very nice, tight, round beads... while others report a similar experience to mine. Not sure what makes the difference? Thoughts?

Maybe Essence Primer under the Essence Plus is necessary to make it last and function properly then. I have never applied it to bare paint.

Like the Essence Primer is needed to make the strong bond to the paint and then Essence Plus makes a better bond to the Essence primer than it does with bare paint.

The Plus was designed to bond to the coating.
