No. Do Not use it dry. It's just a normL foam finishing pad. Prepare to be underwhelmed after reading its description and thinking it's floating down from heaven to pamper your paint and leave it glossy unlike anything you've ever imagined. Lol. IMO it's pretty meh... I think the Lake Country Flat Foam Finishing Pad delivers better results every time I've tested them side by side.

Yes don't use it dry! It's a finishing pad to be used with a fine polish or similar, I like the pad as it's pretty durable and cleans up well. What directions said to use it dry?

well it said to use after compounding, polishing, and finishing so i just assumed that meant after finishing

It's a very fine polishing pad. It was designed to be used with Essence. I've used them numerous times on many machines and have always achieved great results. They are also very durable.

Agree works great with essence. In combination with the pad and essence is night and day on any color even white. And the pads are cheap in cost as well.

I had the same mind set,oh it's just another pad for them to make more money.so I used it this weekend with essence and it's a proven system it Deos enhanced gloss to the max.

With all this being said, would any of you feel there would be a close equivalent within the Lake Country line?

If you say it is very soft, then how would the LC Red, or Black Flat Pads compare?

Thanks, I've tried their Flash Pads and they were very firm, but I guess they are at opposite ends of the scale from each other.

Never used the gloss pad, but from of the sounds of this thread they would compare to an LC thinpro finishing black pad?

The Flash pads are absolutely amazing, they turn a simple PC24 into a rotary for correction. I don't need mf or wool with these babies.

^^ this. Used it on my S4 and our Van when applying Essence and Essence Plus.

Are these pads stiff of soft?

Very soft but very dense if that makes sense. Better than the traditional L.C. Black pad for using with a very fine polish or wax for Jeweling, hence why they recommend it with Essence.

Thank you for this. I have plenty of just the regular Flat LC Black and Red Pads on hand, gobs of them, and gather there's no difference between these and the LC ThinPro of the same color.

To conclude, I might then smartly presume that with CP Essence, you want to use a Pad that has no cut at all. More or less a "Waxing" Pad.

One day I'll maybe buy a slew of the various Carpro Pads, but in the meantime think I might be able to get by with either Essence product

I have used Essence with CarPro Gloss, LC Black Hybrid and LC ThinPro Black when I required Essence for its filling and lsp qualities. Alternatively were I needing the abrasive/correcting side of Essence I use a Rupes Yellow, LC/BnS Flat Orange, BnS Flat Green/Hex Green pad. Essence is a very versatile product depending on pad selection the outcome changes.

You can use Essence with just about any pad. IMO since it's a very fine polish I only use it on vehicles that require only either a light polish or none. For example, on my new car prep package I use it with a white or green pad depending on the paint and condition and have found excellent results. I have a Flex 3401 and find running it at speed 5 is best as anything higher tends to heat it up and really shorten it's working time. YMMV based on the buffer and ambient temps.

On a really nice clean car such as one I'm preparing for a coating, prior to applying the coating I use it with the CarPro Gloss pad at speed 4 and use it as a high quality jeweling polish working it for 3-4 passes. Always comes back with amazing results.
