Hello, I am a hobbyist, and I really like messing around with getting my car as shiny as possible!

I currently have Pure Evo topped with Cancoat Evo, and it is working fine, but I might want to change things up. I thought about doing Pure Evo, and maybe even topping Pure with Mohs Evo.

Would I gain anything by stripping, polishing, and going to Carpro Lite and Gliss Combo?

Is the 2.0 version of Gliss that much better?

How is Carpro Lite compared to Gyeon Cancoat?PXL_20240527_174851449.PORTRAIT(1).jpg

You won't get any benefit topping Pure with Mohs. You would be better off with either the combo you currently have or with Mohs topped with Cancoat. I would skip Syncro.

As far as Cquartz Lite it is a user friendly coating. It performs equally well to CanCoat. Gliss 2.0 is a nice top coat that will add some slickness and hydrophobic behavior. I have a video on Gliss 2.0 on my channel that you can check out. Can't say if its better than the previous version as it has not been out that long.

Also take a look at this recent video where I take an indepth look at the ceramic coating line up from CarPro.

Guz is the expert. I found CQuartz lite a little harder to use but a little more durable (maybe a couple of months worth) than CanCoat Evo.

Thanks for the information.

Could I add Gloss on top of my Gyeon Pure EVO for some slickness and shine?

Also, does two coats of the Cquarz lite or CanCoat add to durability? I am thinking of the best bang for the buck for coating friends' cars. I even thought of adding a layer of something like Griots ceramic spray on top for some extra shine and durability.

I know some say brands don't mix, but chemistry is chemistry despite the brand. Thanks!

Brands can mix. I know many use CanCoat on top of lots of things. However, I wouldn’t guarantee they always will. I would not add Griots on top but then I’m not a big topper guy (or ever had anything Griots that worked like people here swear by).

If you want something more durable then get a more durable coating than Lite or CanCoat. Stick with Pure if you have had success with its durability or try out Mohs and do 2 layers of that. Per Gyeon a second layer of Mohs increases durability.

Okay, thanks. I would say durability is a lower concern for me. My top preferences would be depth, shine, hydrophobicity, and self cleaning abilities.

I captured the jetting effect of Lite in my video. That should give you a good idea of what it will look like. No need to add a second layer as it won't benefit you for durability. I went pretty in depth in that video and discussed lite as well.

If durability is your main goal, I would go with Mohs EVO over Pure EVO. I'm running them side-by-side on my personal vehicles and I'm on my second application of Pure EVO.

Gyeon is pretty fair with their estimation of Pure EVO lasting 2 years. On my daily-driver car I noticed the water behavior started to fall away at the two year point. I wouldn't try to stretch it out to 3. As for Mohs EVO, Gyeon seems to be pretty accurate on that one as well. My wife's car is not at the two year point on it's first application and it's doing great. I don't see why I wouldn't get another year out of it.

In both cases, I only apply a single layer. I never felt the need to apply a second.

Thanks. Yes, that video was helpful. It looked like the Lite added about the same visuals as the others.

Thanks, durability is nice, but as I mentioned, it is a low concern for me. I enjoy working on my car and I don't mind switching it up from time to time.
