To those who have experience with both:
I just purchased Reset. I had been wanting to purchase Hyperwash for sometime and still considering it.

My biggest 3 needs are to keep accuracy for my LSP tests (SiO2 infused products as well as traditional waxes/sealants):
1) keep my LSPs in tact
2) clean the surface well
3) leave nothing behind.

I’m asking now because I’m about to run out of my one traditional glossless wash shampoo and ready for something new. I have other coating maintenance washes that I believe leave nothing or close-to-nothing behind (PBL Shampoo, DP Coating Maintenance Wash, Mckee SiO2 Auto Wash). But I want to be 100% sure that I’m not impacting traditional LSPs in a negative way.

Am I 100% good with Reset for meeting my wants, or should I purchase Hyperwash also to use regularly and only use Reset occasionally? Is Reset an ‘every week’ wash product? Price is not a factor.

Thanks in advance!

I've been using Reset for a long time and I also recently purchased Hyper Wash. I have much more experience with Reset.

I think Reset is the greatest car shampoo there is, albeit a bit pricy.(you said money no object though so not a problem) Reset absolutely meets those 3 requirements for you. It just flat out works and is a cleaner and nothing else. One of my favorite things about Reset is how incredibly easy it is to rinse off too.

In regards to Hyper wash I haven't used it a ton yet so I can't really give a true review on it. The few times I used it though I can say it's quite good but based on early experiences I prefer Reset but the price is very hard to beat with Hyper wash. I know for sure it will fit your first two criteria and I'm pretty sure it doesn't leave anything behind but I'm not 100% sure off the top of my head.

Any other questions you may have feel free to ask.

Ive got more experience with Hyperwash and some with Reset.

For your Si02 LSP's I would use Reset. For traditional LSP's, Hyperwash.

Reason being, as mentioned Reset is a pure cleaning wash and that's what you want to use on an Si02 based LSP. Something that cleans well and rinses away cleanly.

Reset is fantastic. If I were a pro and needed to use a lot of soap, I would certainly use Hyperwash because it's quality and affordable. But since I'm only washing personal vehicle and not using a lot of products, I use Reset because it's great on my coated cars. Previously I used it with vehicles that just had a sealant and I feel like it cleaned them well but reduced the life of the sealant a little bit. With coatings it's no issue and works great. I put 1 fl oz of Reset for about 3.5 to 4 gallons of water and it's plenty of foam and cleaning power.

Both are great. Reset can be a tad harsh on waxes or typical sealants but really cleans coated cars great. Hyper is just an all around nice soap. I prefer Optimum personally over both.

So you would recommend Hyperwash on traditional, non-SiO2 because it’s sort of harsh/strong, or for another reason (price not being important)?

If u want to use foam gun do hyper wash it’s over all better purchase for buck and you have plenty to foam around with.

Been using hyperwash for years on all lsp without issues.

Also been using the boss foaming surface wash lately with great results

Reset is PH Neutral. Safe for all LSP’s. Almost all the LSP’s i’ve seen you post use Nano (sio2) technology.

If your looking for deepest clean to remove light road film and such... Reset.

My take is that you also keep vehicle’s clean so washing every time with Reset might not benefit you. I would recommend reset for maintenance and washing when you are checking testing results.

Hyperwash for general washes.

If you foam cannon.... griots surface wash.

Thanks. I don’t use foam guns/cannons, but I’m essentially going to use your advice: Reset occasionally on ceramic-infused. Reset for tests. Hyperwash for general washing.

Oh, and WG SiO2 when I wash for friends/family or when I want to refresh a LSP with the sweet nectar.

This and Reset will rinse away cleanly and leave nothing behind.

Sorry to sound dumb but this has always been a subject of interest. Do you think Hyperwash does not rinse off as cleanly? I’m sure it doesn’t impact LSP behavior much because it’s glossless, but I’ve mostly heard that HW rinses cleanly too with little-to-no surfactants left.

Something to keep in mind.

Thanks Guz. I’ve heard others having their polymer sealants last just fine with Reset, and others having degradation. I may play it safe and only use HW for those. Or if I do use Reset on traditional LSPs I will likely do so while tracking the longevity to share with others. I’m sure there’s different results based on different products. But getting my shampoo count down to two main ones to cover everything would be a huge win for me.

This is exactly what I do, although most times it's Reset since I usually do rinseless and my cars are coated with UK3 and Gliss.
If someone elses car, not coated, I will use HyperWash.

And I always use Hyper-Wash on wheels when doing a suds wash.
Before I was using Optimum car wash for the same scenario as HW now.

Used Reset today. Love it! Very impressed. It’s good to know that what I’m putting on the car isn’t masking, and the results are already showing.

Hyperwash will be tried next wash.

I'm another fan of Reset. It foams well and smells nice too.

I've used Reset in stronger concentrations to clean tires so it definitely will degrade LSPs, it just depends on concentration and mixture.

Reset and HyperWash are the two best soaps I've used.

Anyone else love the smell of Reset? Smells like Ginger ale to me.

HW is a standard in soap. It is very good. I have a gallon at the ready. Good for it's dilution ratio. I never had issues with it stripping my protection.
