Hello all!

Tonight I got to try out two new products (for me)! I am not really familiar CarPro, and I have limited experience with Duragloss (501 and PBA), so you can ensure that this review is pretty much unbiased. I have tried to get this review in for awhile so here it is! BTW, this is my first, so feedback would be great!

Descriptions of Products Used

Duragloss 901 Car Wash Concentrate

Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate #901 Is a highly concentrated blend of mild surfactants and cleaners that actually enhance the shine of painted vehicles each time it is used. Does not contain acids or alkali and will not remove durable polishes.

If you’re looking for a pH-balanced car shampoo that preserves wax and produces mountains of suds, you’re looking for Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate #901. This shampoo is gentle on your vehicle with plenty of lubricants and suds to protect your paint while you wash.

Chemically, Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate is made up of mild surfactants, which are the safest way to clean. They surround and suspend foreign particles so they easily rinse away. Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate is non-alkaline and non-acidic so it will not remove wax or dry out the paint.

When you rinse your vehicle after using Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate, it does not streak or spot the paint. The special formula encourages a sheeting effect to leave the vehicle mostly dry. Use a soft Cobra Guzzler Waffle Weave Microfiber Towel to remove any remaining water. Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate leaves the paint shiny and clean, like it was just waxed.

Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate #901 is an excellent value. Use only 1 ounce per 3 gallons of water to create a bucket of cherry-scented suds. (Use a stronger concentration to remove oil and tar on heavily soiled vehicles.) Duragloss 901 can be used in foam guns and all professional car wash equipment.

Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate has it all: value, performance, a pleasant scent, lots of foam, and a safe, pH balanced formula. And it shines as it cleans!

CarPro TRIX

CarPro TRIX Tar and Iron Remover combines two paint decontamination steps into one, saving you time and money! This product is designed specifically for pro detailers to prepare vehicles for detailing using less time, materials, and labor. CarPro TRIX is a strong degreaser, cleaner, tar remover and iron remover for virtually any exterior automotive surface.

Airborne chemical compounds and ferrous (iron-containing) particles penetrate auto paint and create corrosive compounds that eat into the paint's sublayers. Detailing clay removes the particles but it doesn't remove their effects - corrosion may already be creeping under the paint's surface. TRIX Tar and Iron Remover dissolves iron particles and tar to protect the paint finish from their destructive effects.

CarPro TRIX is a combination of Iron X plus special chemicals that remove tar and naphtha base components. What this means for pro detailers is that one product removes a variety of harmful contaminants from the paint. Meanwhile, TRIX degreases the auto surface to prepare it for polishing. After using TRIX, the paint will be impeccably clean.

CarPro TRIX has a pH neutral base chemical. It is safe on most auto surfaces. Use it on wheels, paint, glass, plastic trim, aluminum, and chrome. (Warning: do not let TRIX dry on plastics!)

CarPro TRIX Tar and Iron Remover is extremely easy to use. It does the work for you! Just spray it on, wait, and then wipe or rinse it off.

Professional detailers and auto restoration specialists will save a tremendous amount of time and labor with this single product. CarPro TRIX Tar and Iron Remover cuts prep time in half.

Directions:
Shake very well before spraying product each time.
Spray on the surface and let product react for 5 minutes maximum.
Rinse off or wipe with a soft sponge or microfiber towel.

I don't believe we'd need directions for car wash now, would we? lol

So the test vehicle today would be my DD. The car was washed and waxed 3 weeks ago with Fuzion.

The pictures speak for themselves...

They're not the best pictures but they get the point across. Anyways we'll start with TRIX!

Here are the wheels:

To put it simply, they're nasty.

Application

What I did was I put the sprayer on the fan setting and sprayed on the face of the wheels, and the barrel. I also sprayed the paint to see if I could get any contamination off of it.

Immediately after application:

And here is about after 5 minutes:

The key to these "color changing" products is to let them dwell. You can definitely see the product working, both the IronX and Tar Removal properties!

Here is a picture of the paint:

Again, not the best picture, but you can tell that the product is working to remove the iron particles from the paint.

And After:

The wheels definitely aren't their best, but I am almost positive with a second application I could get the rest of the gunk inside of the barrels.

Here is a paint after:

You can definitely tell that it removed the iron particles easily on the left. The right is untouched.

Summary of TRIX

Pros
Removes iron/tar easily from both wheels and paint.

For the price compared to the competition, it is good.

Cons
Have to say that the sprayer is really crappy. It takes a million pumps to get the product out, let alone cover the wheel or whatever surface you are working on. This could also be a pro for some people as it uses less product.

Now onto the wash!

Well I didn't really get pictures for this because, well, it's a car wash. But I will share my experiences.

Summary/Application
I used the two bucket method for my wash. Soap in one, water in another.

Lubricity:
Have to say, it was exceptional. I used about 4-5 caps for a 5 gallon bucket. I think it's even better than Optimum. The mitt just glided over the surface, even with a barely rinsed off surface (which I did for testing purposes).

Smell:
Like cherry cough syrup. But I don't really think this would be a deciding factor for soap/shampoo!

Rinse:
It did also rinse very easy! I found it much easier to rinse than Optimum, as OPT likes to cling to the car. Nothing else to say.

Pros
Excellent Lubricity

Great rinsing

Price point: You can't go wrong on this. for about $25 a gallon, I won't try any other soap/shampoo for a while!

Oh, and I love this picture:

Well, that just about sums up my review, so thanks for looking! Comments welcome!

Nice review and pictures!! I need to go try Trix.

Thank you! I'm sure you'll like it. Just remember to shake it after pretty much every spray and use it in a warm environment (it was about 30 degrees when I was washing) as I saw the performance of the cleaner drop as the bottle was exposed longer to the cold air.
