CarSpa Auto Spa Car Show in Stuart Florida sponsored by Autogeek

Last Tuesday Trey and I manned the Autogeek booth at the regular Tuesday night CarSpa Auto Spa Car Show here in Stuart, Florida.

At this show we buffed out a 1965 Mustang with most of the original paint still intact. The hood was recently repainted but the rest of the car was suffering from oxidation.

So we fixed it....

If you look at the face of the pad on the trunk lid you'll see blue paint... that's because back in 1965 cars came with single stage paint.

The below picture is cropped out of the above picture and you can clearly see the foggy looking dull oxidation common to old single stage paint.

Using the Flex 3401 to do the grunt work of removing oxidation...

The yellow 28 Model A is the Zero Hologram project. Full wetsand and cut and buff. A beautiful car.

See so many cars I get confused lol was the Orange Ford the one you just did the new Menzera AIO on?

Orange car got hit up with the new Flex PE8 mini rotary

Right...I knew I had just seen the vehicle. The AIO was a truck I believe

The yellow one was a wetsand, cut and buff but I believe it was for an extreme orange peel problem with a new paint job. Very nice car.

Yellow 1928 Model A Coupe. Wetsand and used rotary buffers for the project. Finished with Dodo Juice Supernatural Wax

Correctamundo...

The current owner of this Model A had no idea that we here at Autogeek did the wetsand, cut and buff on his beautiful car. So I shared that with him and took the above picture.

Here's the thread...

On the left is John and on the right is Patryk and they are doing some machine wetsanding between the ribs on the filled roof.

Here's Matt and Craig learning to machine wetsand for their first time on a 1928 Model A Hotrod...

Notice how well taped-off this hotrod is? That's because it has a lot of curves and edges and paint is thinnest in these areas. The tape not only protects these areas but it's a visual reminder to avoid sanding on these areas.

Big Boys Toys
After getting the feel for how to machine sand using the 3" Peanut Polishers, I let the guys move up to the big boys toys meaning move up to the 6" 3M Trizact Discs on full size dual action polishers. Below Den is using the Meguiar's G110v2 as a machine dampsander.

Little Deuce Coupe - Hotrod Detailing

There's just too many pictures showing how to buff out a hotrod like this in the above thread that if you want to see them.... click on the link... it's basically a how-to book on how to buff out a car. And it was a MESS when it arrived here....

I can't believe I actually won something!! It's not just that I don't have good luck...but for the last 20 years it seems I've had nothing but bad luck. I'm going to buy Power Ball and Mega Millions tickets!!!
Thanks AG for all you do day in and day out!!

Hey I really got lucky winning on this. I really enjoy learning from the forums and info provided by Mike and the gang. I am an extreme novice when it comes to this, no sandpaper in my gear. Thanks AG.
