How valid do you guys think this test it? As long as the towel doesn't scratch a CD, do you feel comfortable putting it to paint? Any feedback is welcome. :)

I think it's a good test and yes, if it doesn't scratch my cd it can touch my paint.

I think it is a rather quick and easy test. Great way to get rid of those Menudo discs also !

So as long as it doesn't scratch a CD, you're fine with using it on paint?
Yeah, but you need to be aggressive with rubbing the disc. Light rubs with some won't do a thing until you add a little pressure.

The MF towels that I have didn't scratch unless I pushed down super hard. With just a little bit of pressure there were no scratches. I'm guessing these are safe.

Where did you get these towels from? Or brand name?

I say use them and then do the CD test again after a few washes.MF's seem to lose their qualities after a few washes.

Yeah, they've been washed a few times so far. I feel better putting them to paint now. I just wasn't sure how valid this test was.

Josh-we all know the cobras and pakshak are super nice. I love getting new ones. but nothing wrong with using off brand ones if they work. The gray vrooms from target hold up well wash after wash. I use them a lot for wax removal especially on grills and bumpers. They're just the right thickness when folded in 1/4 and easy to flip to the clean side without coming unfolded. kinda off topic but basically reassuring your thoughts.

Well I went to Target today and they didn't have any grey Vroom MFs, but they had an XL yellow one that felt very plush and soft. I bought that one, tried it on a CD, and I have to push very hard to scratch it. I won't be pushing anywhere close to that hard on my paint so I'm going to go ahead and say it's paint safe.

sounds like the drying towel. It will lint a bit so give it a wash with gentle cycle using 'free' detergent'. hang dry or tumble low/no heat.

There you go Josh hope it works well and please let us know
